    This is very true for alot of people, I like both to be honest. Cats are independant, but dogs are companions.

    I just hate how alot of places don't allow pets for living.. It's not fair, I mean I understand that if people don't care for their pets properly or that sometimes pets lead to damages. But it's not right, they're living beings as well.

    Yep...but it can also be said that cats are companions. My cats are very affectionate towards me (and nobody else xD). They wait by the door until I come back, and follow me into any room I go. I have to shut the door on them when I use the bathroom cause they'll sit in there too

    My apt allows pets as long as you pay a deposit (they forgot to ask me for mine LOL so I didn't pay <_<). Even if I did like dogs, I don't think it'd be fair for me to have one when I don't have time to play with it or take it for walks.

    Dogs are such p***ies that way lol, im glad my mom and my work schedules allow me to be home when shes at work and vice versa. I have to wake up when she leaves to go to work cause the second my dog doesn't have anyone to be around he starts to cry and howls until someone comes to pet him and be with him.

    Probably should look into that lol, I have actually gotten into the habit of just waking up a couple minutes before my mom and bringing him downstairs to sleep with me, cause one night my mom didn't come home so he spent like 6 hours upstairs alone and i gues i got so scared or something he tried coming downstairs (which he never does cause he can't for some reason, he will try to come downstairs but can't do it) and he fell down the stairs and tore his acl, after surgery and 4 months of rest hes all better now but now he wont even sit at the top of the stairs waiting for me anymore he wont go anywhere near the stairs anymore hes to scared of them lol, should probably get a gate or something <,< i never leave the house when its just me cause i dont wanna leave him alone incase he does it again for 2 reasons. 1 - i don't want him to get hurt like that again and 2 - do you know how much it costs to repair a dogs acl? its crazy ass expensive.

    Aww man, you should look into crate training. It's really beneficial for dogs to have a little safe den, the crate should just be big enough for the dog to stand up, turn around and lay down in. This is handy since the crate becomes a safe 'den' area and also stops them from injuring themselves.
    Dogs really live in the moment, so while he's acting scared; you guys have taught him that if he whines he gets affection D:. It's a little work to break, but if you ever need help dog training please hit me up. You can drop me a message on facebook (facebook.com/capa.jensen) or my Q&A email (radish_spirit at live.com)

    Thx for the advice, I do have a cage for him cause when we got him he was an abused dog from somewhere where he spent his entire life in a small cage, we still have that cage and if we just show it to him and open it up he goes into it right away without having to tell him anything. But since he spent the first 2 years of his life in there my mom spoils him now and doesnt like putting him in there, but if it will keep him safe we will have to do it i guess.

    I help manage rental properties with my inlaws and we do not allow pets, we used to... but it's SO hard to find people who will responsibly clean up after their animals. We've had our properties ruined on many occasions because the tennants refuse to clean up. Sure they lose their deposit, but to replace a carpet with something hard-wearing for a smaller sized house we're looking at just shy of $2,000, that puts us out of pocket $1,400 if the deposit was only $600. And that's just the damage to the carpets><.
    The last house to have a pet in it took about $8,000 worth of damage; they'd locked the dog in the basement where it had constantly relieved itself (it had no choice) and the owners had never cleaned it up, the carpets were wrecked as was the linoleum in the kitchen and the house absolutely reeked. We can't even get our money back, we took them to court and they're all "HURR BANKRUPTCY".

    I'm a serious animal lover but until the majority of the renting population can pull their heads out of their ass, I'll continue with my no pet policy>< haha. Not saying all renters are bad, I was a nice renter Q_Q;

    Some places also do it for people that have allergies to certain types of animals.
