Right a thing I wanted to comment but forgot.
Bro, this is the Localization sub-forum. This place exists EXACTLY to comment, complain and congratulate on the names of features. It's it's raison d'etre (did I spell that right?)
it simply needs a hyphen. that is all. toodles.
<least they didnt call it Linkhest or shellhest. what it would be like to be a fly on the wall in those idea sessions.>

I appreciate the response too, Fern. But it really is an awkward name. You mention that when possible, you'd hope for a 'kick-ass' sounding name for something.. This is really the antithesis to that, and as others have pointed out, I don't see a valid reason to change the name at all (if this is your best option).
I dont like Final Fantasy...could be Forever Fantasy. My comment.
*Don't argue with idiots. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
You should read more fantasy books ^^
"Auf des Königs Geheiß ..."
yes the name sucks.
That's actually not true, "Geheiß" is a normal German word which is still used nowadays.
Not trying to be mean, but if you never heard of it before you should probably work on your German vocabulary
I don't really like guildhest either, I actually thought it was a typo and someone tried to type "guildquest"
Behest was short and made sense, even a lot of German players used the word.
I don't think it has to be changed, 'behest' still makes perfect sense, context-wise.
For the German "Monsterhatz" (which translates to monster hunt) it would obviously have to be changed because in ARR it's no longer just hunting monsters, but 'behest' still fits.
If Yoshi-P thinks the guild-part is so important why not go with "guild behest"?
All the reasons for choosing "guildhest" still apply but it doesn't have the weird word-juggle-thingy of guildhest.
AND players can still keep calling it behest, the name they came to know and like.
Of course I'll get used to it, but I just don't think it's a really good choice.
