Basicly, i don't know the fuck you thinking
It's not a direct correlation, that pushbacks are directly related to failure. It's more of a question of How many times can you disappoint your fans before they lose interest? I hate to say it, but XIV doesn't have a lot of room for disappointment after 1.0.

That said, they can't be "late" when they haven't given a date, and we've learned many times that "mid-XXX" in SE's language simply means that it will fall during the period of XXX. It's not meant to be juxtaposed with "early-XXX" or "late-XXX."

I know you were just pointing out something as a devil's advocate, but these are video games we're talking about.
Half Life 2, Black Mesa Source, TF2, Duke Nukem Forever; and these are just the ones that come to mind. No matter your opinion on their quality, I seriously doubt many people who were anticipating these games were turned off by delays so much that they didn't chomp at the bit as soon as they were released. The same thing will happen with whatever form Half Life 2: Episode 3 takes, and I'm fairly damn sure that ARR won't be hurting for numbers because of delays (directly). The only people who you drive away with delays are those customers who were sucked in because of hype and are unable to verify the quality fast enough to keep their interest ... and shareholders.
