Vel, every time I see your sig I think. "Tourists." Lol
I think the whole time I'm in Beta I'll be testing gathering. Anyone want to team up?

Had to do this quick at work, but you get the idea:
This is what the forums feel like today. XD

Well, if you applied anyhow you would see a confirmation E-mail stating you put in an application. I did it anyhow just to be safe, and I got the E-mail, so I know that I have the right E-mail address on File =).
I hope we get to download the game client ahead of time. I want to be able to start right away!
Yes they have.. even when they said they're behind schedule, I wasn't even upset. I was just so impressed with the fact that they were keeping us up to date as much as possible. These last month has been agonizing though while waiting for Beta news.A notice was place on the web site for everyone who qualifies for Legacy Status to verify the e-mail address that they have on file in the Account Management System. Good piece of advise if you want to receive the code for Beta testing which will be going out shortly.
I have noticed that ever since the last patch for ver 1.23 the Dev team has been pretty spot on with projected dates and time lines. This bodes well for Beta testing and a late spring release. Kudos to them for all their hard work.
On top of that.. I'm in the middle of a move so I've had no TV or internet to keep me distracted unless I'm here at work, and even then it's still agonizing because there hasn't been any news up until last week lol
I clicked on the link they gave and signed in with my email instead of my id. Got got the newsletter after that.
Can't wait.. its gonna be fun times.
"You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war."
Regarding the OP's comment on how accurate their timelines have been sinc1.23 i would have to agree. their original raodmap did project quite far into the future of the re-development of FFXIV so i wasnt suprised when things were a little off near the end. That was what got FFXIV in a pickle in the first place, setting deadline then forcing themselves to meet them. Its good to set goals but its far better to move those goals when it will benefit the project.
Anyway, the reason i was posting was to say that i thought i heard somewhere that the alpha phases went surprisingly well, much better than anticipated. At the end of alpha phase 1 (i think) people were saying the game should be ready for beta or even release with how well everything worked and how few bugs people actually found. With that being said, I am optimistic they will get through this beta testing phase efficiently (as long as they arent bogged down with too many trolling complaints of people wanting to change every aspect of the game instead of looking for bugs in the systems they ahve developed.)
I will be looking for bugs AND making suggestions and expressing my opinion about the gathering system likes and dislikes in beta and after launch and I hope that they continue to be as responsive as they have been.
