New Limsa Lominsa BGM

I really like the Limsa Lominsa BGM, it makes me think alot of ships sailing and the hustle and bustle of a coastal town. The salty air and the sea gulls sounding nearby. Mmmm, next time I stop by Limsa Lominsa I gotta get me a nice helping of sushi!

I approve, just hope they don't dismiss all of Uematsu work for XIV, Soken is great, but still... can't they work together?

Edit: Also,the blog is stepping up their posts, that is great and I WANT TO PURCHASE THE VOCAL COLLECTION!

I guess its a matter of how certain songs work in places. Perhaps certain themes from 1.0 will be used sparingly to invoke nostalgia, but I can't say for certain. It's a matter of whether the tracks can fit in at the right place and time. For example, wouldn't it be great if the old Coerthas theme was used for a particularly devasted area of Coerthas? That theme just had that haunting kind of sound to it in my opinion.

I absolutely ADORE the new La Noscea music! The bagpipes and the flute, this is a track that I can listen to for a long time, and best of all: it makes me want to go on an ADVENTURE! So that is a success also, Limsa itself is nice! Definitely a 'tavern by the sea' kinda tune. It's not so boisterous, but I'm looking forward to the new atmosphere for sure.

I love the new pieces; all respect to the original soundtrack and Mr. Uematsu's influence as a whole, but there were very few tracks in the 1.X soundtrack that you couldn't just hear the synthesizer oozing though - and that bothered me a lot. Navigator's Glory was one of the few that sounded 90% realistic, of course, so it's a bad comparison - though, if you go back and listen to the full live version, there's a clear difference in raw power.

Hats off to (Team?) Soken, however. I love the new music and I have a feeling I'm going to love hanging in New Limsa.

Their "standard" direction is feeling even in the music. I could totally have pictured this in one of those free korean MMOs, just like Gridania's theme.

Doesn't sound "Standard" as it's very High Quality Music. The other Korean MMOs have a Cheap sound to it. There so much going on in this theme, It's not even close to standard. Anyways, I love this new theme ALOT better than Navigators Glory.

Edit: Already listened to it ten times and it's still awesome <3 @ :25-:45 secs I love that part! .

I can't say for sure, but I think the first La Noscea piece is an homage to Sarutabaruta. It seems like a somewhat swing version of the theme played there. Quite like it myself. The second La Noscea theme is also quite good, but I'm interested in the higher tempo feel, perhaps it is for a higher level area?

The Limsa Lominsa theme itself kind of bothers me, probably because it doesn't sound like it would do well in a loop. Most likely they'll just loop the second half and it will be fine though.
