TESO most likely will have A LOT of problems on release, just by doing 1 server only, so everyone will be on one server could lead to major crashes and lag issues, even with skyrim the game will still crash when triggering certain things, like doing a quick save during this one quest (forgot name of quest) will cause the game to crash, and that has been like that since the game came out no hot fix on it or anything.

I can't imagine how it would be when 10, 000 people go to one city at once? providing they have a huge player base like that, but yea everyone on one server O_O.

It's pretty commonplace to create a new instance of an area that reaches over X amount of players. Which makes me wonder... will ARR be doing this? AFAIK, they didn't have that at 1.0's launch.
Also, most MMOs have problems at release. I think we can all relate to this one?

XIV is going more for the "formula MMO", too. GCD, more solo friendly, etc. In fact, I would go as far as to say that ESO will innovate more than ARR.

Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting big time for ARR too. Just correcting your blatant misinformation. ESO will be a great game; ARR will be a great game. They'll be different games, and I hope they are both a huge success. This whole "MMO vs MMO" thing is ridiculous, and pointless.
Actually I agree with that, I'm answering the OP's question though not relaying my entire MMO belief. I know that someone from DAOC is in the head of this game and so far honestly that still doesn't sell it to me, especially since you can't go from one Province to another with one character... I hate that about faction PvP centric games.

How do you know it will be a great game? I'm sorry but many 'it's going to be a great game" MMO turned out into complete messes, Vanguard being the PRIME example. As for the sandbox thing, try out the definition and you'll find many games fit into that category then you realize. And the person I was replying to was talking about an open world experience which is usually in a more sandbox type of game, like if you would just take Skyrim and take it online, do what you want, when you want in whatever order. Now that would be awesome. I doubt TESO will be like that, not with classes and levels.

I'd love to proven wrong of course, I am signed up for the beta and all, but I am not going to hope for anything that I would actually like to see being a fan of Bethesda and the single player games, because that's a setup for disappointment, call me jaded if you will but I'd rather be cautious, then believe it's going to be grade A AWESOME, when there are still a lot that isn't known.

I did that with FFXIV.... And look at us now!

Everyone else, Bethesda developed the single player games they are NOT developing the MMO. That would be Zenimax their parent (?) company which hasn't released anything yet... And the single server is chopped up in instances like in GW1, so while you are on the same 'server' you are not all into the same place really. And when you log in you'll be plopped into the same instance as your guild, friends or people with the same interest as you if all else fails.

WHICH honestly might be yet another problem?.. :S

EDIT: Actually I was mistaken in my calling it WoW meets Warhammer you are right, it's more DaoC meets GW2 meets WoW in the Elderscrolls, with LotrO synergy?

Most of the views are fake most company use a way to get lot's of fake views. Youtube a few weeks back took a lot of fake views from videos but people keep doing it.

Or the Elder Scrolls series just has a wider following/better marketing strategy than Final Fantasy... >_>

It definitely is marketed better for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a crap ton of commercials for TESO.

Yup, while it is disappointing since I'm more of a FF fan than Elder Scrolls, it's not the least bit surprising to see TESO get more attention because it simply is more popular in the western gaming market. Also their marketing from Skyrim was spot on and their setting a good start marketing TESO.

Their "An Introduction to TESO" video with over a million views informed and intrigued me more about their game than every single video up on FF XIV's entire channel combined which have all been about flashy graphics. Sure those of us who follow the game constantly know plenty of details about the game but good luck finding all that info from SE's videos.

TESO was named ''Most Anticipated MMO" on numerous MMO sites... it should have the upper hand on the "wider-audience" crowd.

As for arguing about who "should" be the most popular, here's what the newcomers know:

    - SE failed with FFXIV and they redesigned the whole thing. FFXIV:ARR should be better.
    - Bethesda never released a MMO but Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim received Game of the Year awards.

Basically, the choice is between "a MMO experienced company that failed to deliver" or "a MMO unexperienced company that never failed to deliver"... or any other MMOs. What I'm trying to say is that, if you're not a fan of both franchises, there are doubts in choosing either one of them.

I'm really really not trying to sound like an ESO fanboy here... I'm honestly not lol. However, this is wrong. The two lead men on ESO have EXTENSIVE MMO backgrounds, going back to the mid-late 90's in one case. This might be Zenimax Online Stuido's first MMO (this sub company was founded for ESO), but it's employees are not novices.

Well the thing that makes me wonder about TESO is will it be like Fallout III/NV, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrims style of play? How well would it incorporate co-op playability if it is?

I imagine alot of the customization and overworld influence would probably be gone due to limitations of multi-user plabaility, which I know was a big perk of the previous games (IE: If you cut down a tree it stays cut down, you kill a quest NPC he stays dead).

Really TESO leaves alot to be interpreted on how well received transitioning from the classic TES format will be when put in an MMO element, because we know some things will have to be changed in the transition to multiplayer based world and that degree of change can make a world of impact on the game's success.
