New NMs almost impossible to claim - unless you live in Japan!

Unofficial JP servers When the game was about to be release they went to many NA website and told us that this is our server so please do not enter one being selbina if i remember right.

Claimed Kokoroon plenty times yesterday with a group of 3 while other groups were also trying to claim it and last time i checked i lived in Europe. Maybe people need to learn to focus and concentrate better. The only time i really had huge issues in ff11 was when rmt would stand their with their pets out so i would constantly target the pets while tabbing.

kill the rest of mobs in the area if any at all close by .
Use aoe skill that does not requires target.(warmonger,wardrum, etc)
win.

Its not about focus. Focus won't make your ping become faster...its like a race...whoever claim message reaches the server first gets the claim. It was like this in XI and they problem will stay like this for every game that deals with international servers.

I do think faction version of NMs would be a simple, clean way to fix this all, also keeping the casual friendly/stressfree gameplay that was one of the proposals of this game.

Ok, im prolly pretty lucky with my ping then, eventhough i switched providers more than once since i played ff11. I just don't see the claim problem as much. I still get the claim pretty fast, but im also not chatting or doing other things while waiting for it to pop. Besides, with pops every 30 secs to 5 minutes, and untradable/unique stuff dropping from the NMs, do we really need to make a problem out of this? Raids and dungeons are also coming. For everyone something to their liking?

I found people more than willing to group up to kill the NMs faster, and then hand out drops in order of arrival.

I'd also like to point out that if you attack to early your actions will NOT claim the monster. Just like in necrologos or whatever when an enemy appears you have to wait a moment before you can claim it or it will not turn red. Keep that in mind when trying to claim.

I would like to report that in the above mentioned Selbina server, with a healthy international population (the reason why I chose it) several things have been going on: Plenty of mixed parties camping, getting items to go around to all members interested also (my LS has ppl. in Europe, NA and Japan, it's not only ad hoc parties.) Also, lots of individual campers from all nationalities; and finally, region-defined groups, everybody participating in good, old-fashioned, heavy-handed, competitive camping. This, I should say, does make adrenaline flow, and the game fun. We started as a light party, ended up full and fought continuously, in several locations, and never went beyond 10 minutes without a claim. By the end of a few hours of good late, Friday-night fun (which, by the way, corresponds to daytime Saturday fun in Japan) most of us had one of the good drops and some had several.

Nothing was as complicated and frustrating, or as competitive as was trying to claim the over-camped and painfully shy Leaping Lizzy (remember it's pop formula depended on the pre-placeholder for the placeholder being killed continuously?) and Valkurm Emperor...

Does this thread really exist? I've noticed no such problems and have been claiming fine. Most have big enough spawn radius' where it isn't a spam war anyway.. not to mention they respawn in 5 minutes.

2) Use Pugs ability which lets you run full speed with weapon out.

I don't know if it's Pug ability, mine is currently 39. but I believe you're talking about Fleet of Foot which is a Lancer ability and allows you to run 20-30% faster with weapon out
