very good point, i hadnt thought about invo space, maybe have a pvp gear storage npc outside the pvp area? maybe an extension on the gear swap system that was showed in Alpha where your gear is stored outside of your bags?

I think the best way to approach this idea would be to have a starting tutorial that gives you basic gear and some PVP points.. Like most things nowadays.
that wouldnt really fix the problem; that you'd start out with shitty pvp gear, and would need to fight against other people with shitty pvp gear, to get points to buy less shitty gear for a while

Let's say you go to the PVP Arena with me. I can see that you have the latest gear and I just hit level 50. My gear is absolute bull**** compared to yours. We agree to set the level cap to Level 45 so that we both use gear which isn't completely overpowered (Since most endgame gear is level 46+ that would exclude many overpowered items).

Six weeks later we decide to battle again, this time we both have the best equipment possible. We decide to do a level 50 brawl with all our skills and the best equip. We do that.

In the 45 scenario we would miss a few skills but I guess I'd like that more than not to use my equip at all

I hope I nailed it this time ^^; Sorry again.
OH i get ya, thats a pretty unique idea, i havnt seen anything like that before, that could be a good option.

I was just humoring the idea. I don't think gear should be exlusive anywhere.

Know what, Do something like (dare I say it) Call of Duty. You have a separate character level in offline multiplayer than you do in online multiplayer.

So...your normal level is the PVE level....and in the PVP arena have a separate level. And to level up you have to fight other people or fight matches against NPCs if you can't find a match with someone that's your level.

stat progression is rather lame throughout the game anyways, so all you need is good wep with good damage.
should high tier pvp items be triple melded or something? or have very high stats anyways? there's not much change in damage output unless you got lots of stats.
i wonder how pvp will be in ARR you tend to not do so much damage to same lv mobs, so pvp fights might be rather drawn out anyways.
casters should def get interruption resistance, or they'll never get any spells off.

so are you saying like have a game with in a game, like my Monk is PVE lv 50 but in PVP he gets reset to lv 1 when i start pvp? or are you talking about ranks, like your character is lv 50 war but hes only rank 15 out of 50 ranks in pvp to seperate the diffrent skill levels in PVP?(if that made sense lol)

i refered to it as a problem
    but it's matter of perspective.
in 1 way it's good, so there's some progression.
but in another way it's forced on you. if you're lv 50 already, and got AF set for example, should you be forced to fight with lv 10 (whatever) tutorial set, just because pvp gear is exclusive? your damage output would be absolutly pathetic. it would be like being lv 10 all over again, but with more skills

I don't like the idea of diverging PvP and PvE where separate gear is required. Make it fun, make it semi casual with some decent rewards. Keep the focus on good PvE.

Making PvP only gear means you intend to support pvp to a very high standard, making it central in the game.

    1) Much like WoW pvp, a new stat would be needed (resilliance) to separate the gear.
    2) Substantial balancing for skills would be continually required to maintain both PvP and PvE balance.
    3) People will then insist that PvP give equal XP to leveling in PvE.
    4) Many PvP battlegrounds will need to be made to appease hardcore PvP players.
    and the list goes on...

You make PvP a completely separate entity, and people are going to expect you to support it to the very end. Even at the cost of good PvE, and I would much rather have good PvE over half assed versions of both.
