Actually sony has recently revealed a headset for future game play as an extension to there ps3 system...

The biggest problem is the price here. Oculus seems to aim for around 300$ while most other HMDs with those specs cost you 1k+. Have you seen the current sony HMD? Seriously, for it's price it's pretty disappointing, not to mention the headtracking is not present at all, meaning if you turn the head the image doesn't turn. Others have headtracking, but it's laggy, ruining the immersion. Oculus claims to have solved that, but I've yet to test it personally.

Really? In the demo I saw there is head tracking... And I was under the assumption it costs $100

It has about the same specs as oculus, but costs 999€/$/GBP. No head-tracking.

Since the guy on it later said ~"my head is down as a I look" it sounded like he has head tracking...

Also it does seem like it will be expensive...

I watched SAO, it was very good. I have no idea if SAO caused more people to watch the stream. I think us MMO players can relate to SAO very easy, however people not familiar with MMOs may not. SAO theme is not new, .hack//sign has the same theme probably not as popular since it is a lot older.

Maybe everyone wants to be a Beater(Beta Cheater) now

I think the reason people enjoy SAO is the way you enter the game dot hack you use a headset and a controller while SAO you enter the game itself.

I have to say i'm pretty happy that SAO is helping MMO and maybe we have more players playing FFXIV

Yep i still enjoy ffxiv more if it have headset like rift is coming out we wont have anything like SAO in our life time

Well we did mention earlier the new headset system by sony but its a bit expensive right now. Hopefully it'll be reduced in a couple of years...
