Here what i can say about STUFF that people says about SW:TOR and others that use WoW as basis, THEY ALL HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON = NOT MANY CONTENT TO DO.

SW:TOR is a great game, GW2 as well, and other several MMORPGs that uses WoW as a basis, but the reason why it flops was not because of the mechanic of the game or such, is the attractiveness of the games wasn't there.

Games like SW:TOR spend too much on their voice acting and shyt, they do not bother with contents. Nor promote them any new features to boot. If you ask me, every single features in an MMO is a bland and bore. Nothing is unique. its just an improve version.

I'm really surprised they haven't deleted this thread yet. REALLY surprised.

Every other time I see another game mentioned on my reader feed of this forum, I click the link and Oh thread is gone. Maybe they're on Xmas vacation.

PSO2 will not last state side it will probably end up as another failure like PSU. Let alone japan is already like 1 years worth of content ahead. :/

Well, your criticism is quite founded, as it's certainly not going to appeal to everybody, that's for sure.

To me, the animation and combat looks great though.

While something completely alien to you seems to be that judging a game a "utter and dismal failure" (which is a commercial definition by the way) even before you played it for a minute is ridiculous.

The only issue I see is you still have to pay to access certain things. However, given current trends of MMORPGs, PSO2 is actually one worth playing if you're tired of the generic ones. It's a great game, has it's flaws but they actually did something nice with it that'll go over better than most of the new ones that came out recently.

As a player of both XI and XIV, I'm thrilled with the less intensive direction they're taking XIV. I have a lot in XI that I spent weeks, even months, accumulating or earning, and if I want that kind of hardcore pride I can still go back to it. With XIV I can jump in and enjoy a very exciting story and I'm looking forward to watching it all unfold.

By the way, I didn't read your whole post. Grammar doesn't normally get to me, but I don't think I can read that much broken English. Even then, you turned me off with more rants about it being WoW-like. What isn't "WoW-like" anymore (depending heavily on your definition) that isn't either many years old or overly hardcore? Until recently FF hasn't made many changes to a working system (FF1-10 have minimal changes to the battle system by today's standards) as long as they make enough changes to keep it fresh. Sometimes you have to take a step away from the idea of innovation and realize that a lot of people want more of what they already know and like. Tweak this, adjust that, add the right spice and your old bread becomes a new crouton.

other mmo's haven't hurt ffxiv cause ffxiv is at the lowest it can get lol. even though there is no telling if the other mmo's that released have stolen people from this game for good but i doubt it. those mmo's aren't doing good either, the problem will be that now 2.0 is going to be about the same as all of them in trying to be, what they can never truly be.

as others said wow was a fluke that will never happen again, i been saying this forevers. it got lucky and doing the same as it did will never repeat it's numbers. it's going to do the opposite. it's guaranteeing quicker failure. if you divorce your wife and are still then dating women and seeing your wife and not running for the hills then lol why did you leave.

so all that being said, other games might not kill ffxiv physically, but ffxiv trying to be like them might kill it.
