This is analogous of free trials. She is handing you a sample of a finished product. She is not the producer of said product asking for feedback on a product in development. Sorry the analogies are way off.
Edit: Companies do focus groups all the time to test peoples reaction to their unfinished products. This is the best analogy I can come up with. And I am sure there is some negative feedback from time to time in those too...

I take it you havent been to a decent deli then. I have a few in my town that i can walk in to and ask then for a taste of something before i buy it. The man generously takes a small slice of it for me and allows me to taste test it. You, sir, are just a big poopy pants that has no concept of humor.

I just thought about this, isn't bread and processed meat a finished product? It's just not a sandwich.
