The Return of End of an Era - Dec 31 2012 - 2 hours before servers shutdown forever!

I hate to be one of those people, but seriously let 1.0 die off already. The team is in full force on ARR, and there's no reason to take their time to redo a live event for a only select few players.

Hey, they're the ones keeping the servers up until the 31st. They coulda just kept them offline, and this wouldn't have even been a thing.

There hasn't even been more than 100 players to log into the 1.0 servers since that event, and people are asking for servers to be kept online, for 1.0 to be remade single player, for a redo of the event, and a bunch of other s**t. Can we just give it a rest already?

I disagree. It will be the start of the New Year holiday. Let's be happy for Team FF14 to enjoy some well-deserved time off, to recharge their batteries and pray for good fortune in the coming year.

But it really doesn't matter what I think. People have already voted with their absence in-game.

I know there are people still interested in that game. There's just not enough to justify doing anything with it besides closing it down and putting up some page or video somewhere that they can use to reminisce.

to be honest... the last day of the original end of era event was boring... Yes you get to fight the imperials like you did previously... yet you get to see few server/system message where it looks like NPC's are trying to contact the team... but then all you get is... server shutdown and game stopping LOL... that was the most weirdest way for the servers to go down for a final event... I read the reasons and I agree it wasn't possible and they chose the best method, which is probably true, but as someone who was really looking forward to this final event it didn't amuse me at all.

If you want to experience the final event... just go hit up some mobs in Mordona and hit ALT+F4 to shut your FFXIV client then go watch the End of Era trailer on youtube... you got yourself almost 90% same event (without the NPC system message) and without the lag/kicked off server issue... lol

When you finish the "Ifrit Bleeds. We Can Kill It" quest, you can do it over again as many times as you want, even though as far as the story is concerned, Ifrit has been vanquished.

Fyi, Primals can come back whenever they want as long as the aether supply exists, this is why summoning hurts the planet.

You guys keep saying that they have to do something, the event is already made, all they have to do is activate it. I invested 2 straight years in this game and the way it ended wasnt justified. And yes the servers are basically empty now, but that doesnt mean people wont log in to do the event, I would be very surprised if no one showed up for the grand finale again. We wouldnt be asking for the finale again if the finale would have gone as planned last month.

Like I said in my previous 2 posts, this would be for the true fans of FFXIV, not people who just played it to hang out with other people online, it's for those of us that talked to every npc, explored every empty cave in FFXIV, collected every unique/untradable gear, did every event, those who played because it's a FF and not just because it's a social game.

Pff..this event needs to happen on the 22nd...we're all gonna die so may as well celebrate it video game style!!! Who knows, maybe Louisoix will show up and save us all IRL too!

I'm satisfied with the ending.. It was just us fighting a bunch of extremely strong mobs and then we had to go online to watch the trailer.
