    "Zelda styled" sucks. The automatic jumping all too often happens when you don't even want it to (and other times it doesn't happen when you DO want it to). Free jumping doesn't mean the game has to become a platform action game. All you have to do is limit how much it can be done (e.g. with a stamina cost) and people will only use it when it is genuinely useful to them. But when it is useful to them, they should be in control of it, not the game.

    This is total bs. I want jump because I want to JUMP not to fall down. People concerned about everybody bunnyhopping as a result of this clearly haven't played many other MMO's with jump in them. Free realms comes to mind where jump is the main action button (ps controller X) and people use it very sparingly without any limitations or cool-down timers.

    As long as dragoon has jump (asuming they add it in future) any other jump does not matter so much : )

    If Jump is implemented will you complain if you try and jump a up onto a cliff, its obvious you should be able to jump it, but because of zone balance SE has an invisible wall that prevents you from doing so?

    I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

    Yes. There's no such thing as "zone balance" in this context. I can accept the argument that certain areas weren't built with this ability in consideration- but as long as there's falling damage, being able to jump in and fall from most things will be fine. The only place where there is a real problem is with limsa lominsa, and I'd be fine with invisible walls where there is no ground below in the city only- towns are generally supposed to be safe places.

    In effect most situations that would normally have been cleared by jumping now no longer act as obstacles to the player.

    Yes there might be a few areas to tweak this still, But I did these tests in all three Town Zones without any difficulty in scaling "Jump-able Heights"

    So in my opinion this is no longer a valid argument towards Jumping.
    Why are so much against jumping that you feel that you need to create a thread about it? If you don't like it then just don't use it or you could just go back to FFXI.

    A game without jumping in 2011 is ridiculous. Also Yoshi-P said that jumping was to remove the feeling that you are tied to the ground all the time. Jumping does not only allow you to jump down a clif... it was never the point. It is to make you jump over a small fence or obstacle...

    I think Jump should still be implemented. It's a good feature, and you can't go wrong with it.
