im not too worried about ARR as im not actually against questing in a game as long as there are group oriented contents as well. However I would like alternate ways to gain xp. If they could let group group grinding be just as viable this game will be my new home for years. For some reason I just enjoy grinding in a party i dont know why lol

I'm willing to bet how much disappointed most of you will be. Unless you disliked everything about 1.0 and XI and are a WoW/Aion fan, I doubt you will remain long playing FFXIV ARR. They tricked me, and I think most of you when they improved 1.0 to a playable state, gave us something to hope for, just so we could expect better in the future. They tricked us because most of what we saw in 1.0 is not coming back. The game is almost completely different now. Those improvements were a lie, and I'd much prefer if the game had been shut down from the start if they knew 2.0 would be something as different. We got used to something for a year, and I can't believe everyone is complaining about the game and not how it simply didn't work well in some (many) areas. How can someone say they didn't like the weapon skills in 1.0 after they implemented the job specific skills and improved upon the lv 50 ones, which have in my opinion the best animations I've ever seen in an MMO? You're all really not satisfied with those skills? With the main scenario quests? The writing?

not really, you are lieing yourself. sure, the combat system was better than on release day (but well it was such a mess also).

doesnt mean it really was good in the end of 1.0.... it was still very choppy and nothing what i'd enjoy for more years seriously.. it got REALLY boring in the end to be honest.
the only thing that keeps me playing (and many others) was the fact, that i was playing for my character progession in 2.0. and not really much more.
why do people do not log in anymore onto the 1.0. servers?

its not just all about the saves.. they are done with it now. most people kept playing because they know, there is coming some total different.

i am hearing so many voices of ARR alpha players, that it is so much better than 1.0... i think these voices cant be all false.. and they never really enjoyed WoW or whatever.

No, it has nothing to do with people who "can't cope with changes".

It has everything to do with - and this is the important bit - people not agreeing with or liking the changes being made.

Let's say, for the sake of analogy, you've been eating apples for the past two years. The crop has begun to go bad, the apples are rotting really quickly and it's decided that they need to be replaced with something better. So, you hand over your remaining stock of apples and eagerly await their replacement.

They hand you a huge sack of bananas.

Let's say you, for the sake of this example, don't like bananas. You don't like their texture, they smell funny and they get those nasty black spots all over them. You express this to the person handing them to you.

In response, the person dismissively says, "Oh, you just can't cope with change".

How much sense would their response make to you? I hope your answer is "absolutely none", because that would be the correct response.

It has nothing to do with "coping with change". All it means that you would have preferred something else you enjoy more, like Oranges or Plums or whatever.

Understand the difference?

People like the idea of the game being changed, ostensibly to improve it. They don't necessarily like all the changes being made.

Attempting to dismiss differing opinions in such a shallow way as you did is lame and intellectually lazy.

If it was intended as a "joke", then yes... some way of identifying it as such would have been helpful. I mean, you're talking about a medium where it's common for people to consider any opinion they disagree with to be "trolling". So it's not exactly an outlandish way to take your post.
