I just want beta to hurry up and start. Gettin bored, and want to see more than just gridania what limited selection of classes/races they have for alpha.

Weird, my friends in malaysia has no issue playing and they are registered under UK too.I got an invite.
Yeah the email came in.
I followed the instructions in it, but couldn't even access the alpha forums to begin the process of alpha testing.
I emailed SE support, they replied (surprisingly and diligently) within minutes, never before have they replied to my previous emails, asking me to provide them with some information.
Turns out, no they can't do anything about the region conflict, given that my account is registered under UK/Europe, but I reside in an otherwise backward country called Singapore. No SE does not extend their services to my country.
Thank you SE.
Thank you.

BTW. Last Story is pretty awesome.. /waiting still.

Actually, I almost hope I don't get an alpha invite now, because then I might not get an early beta invite or something, and I'd definitely be more excited to get into the beta.

I'll copy/paste this from other thread just FYI since twitter for FF_XIV_EN didn't update anything since the Producer Letter.

Me and few others mentioned this to YoshiP on the JP thread but current problem with ARR FFXIV is that the new information regarding ARR is spread out all over on the internet and it's not updated throughout all sites at the same time.
Video 3 and 4 didn't even get posted on the official ARR FFXIV PR site until YoshiP posted the dev blog post. No information was released on The Lodestone topics, only way people would of known about it was through the forums, facebook, twitter, or from other friends who have seen the video's. (Or for those subscribed to the youtube channel and watching it closely for update.)
Same with the 2nd wave of alpha tester invitation NA side had NO information regarding this one, only way people found out that it was distributed was through friends who got in, or from the JP Twitter post.
We notified YoshiP that these should be better managed and to spread out the information to all available sites at same time to bring in as much interest from those waiting for ARR or know Final Fantasy series.
-------------------------
I can keep waiting for getting the invitation to the alpha/beta test but devs needs to make sure all the people waiting outside of forums gets updated the same time.
My logic sensors dictated that I "follow" the JP twitter account and subscribe to the youtube channel. But maybe people don't have those options for some reason?

I feel the same way, I rather get into beta then alpha. So if I don't get into alpha and SE decides I should have first crack at beta then not getting into alpha isn't all that bad. Also I don't know how the beta selection process will go, if its open or closed etc. heck SE might decide players who didn't get into alpha along with being legacy are first for beta, then followed by ppl who didn't get in and aren't legacy, followed by ppl who got in alpha and are legacy, finally by ppl who got into alpha and weren't legacy. Then I guess random ppl after that.

Agreed. This has been one of my biggest complaints with SE since day one.I'll copy/paste this from other thread just FYI since twitter for FF_XIV_EN didn't update anything since the Producer Letter.

There's going to be closed Betas mainly and much like alpha: "We're going to try our best to get active players in first."
We know how that went with Alpha though.
