Can the Night sky look beautiful?

I'll like the sky to look amazing at night, but at the same time I think it is a good idea to make nighttime eerie as the other thread suggested. A nice bitter sweet relationship regarding nighttime would be perfect. Agreed?

I agree there are lots of stars out in 1.xx version. but to me it looked dull and boring until Dalamud started getting closer. That is when it impressed me, so I'll like to see more of that in 2.0

I'll share two pictures that I hope the development team can get an idea of what I'm proposing.

Funny I was thinking about linking skyrim photos when I read the title..

In 1.0 the night sky was made of moving pixel blocks XD.. I really think they loved the idea of pixel blocks - their flora was made of them too XD

I would really like to look at the sky both night and day and enjoy - so +1'd :P

I liked watching the auroras after Dalamud started to get closer. Would love some semi-close galaxies, comets, and occasional meteor showers.

I agree, and the bold part would make a cool weather effect.

I think that's a pretty good idea. They have a lot to work with in terms of how the sky can look and what effects this due to the nature of the world the game takes place in. I'd imagine that abnormalities in the night sky that in turn look quite beautiful in terms of game scenery could be easily explained by Aether disruptions and/or Bahamut Mega/Giga/Teraflare having some sort of effect on the sky.

That or they could just make the night sky look pretty "for the fun of it", but I know the good people at SE tend to like having a purpose behind things like sky effects. I will admit the 1.x night Sky for most of the version's life (in other words, before Dalamud began to noticeably effect the sky in-game) was indeed bland and didn't give much reason to ever tilt your camera up. Even that in itself was a pain at times with the way camera controls worked. ^^;

I'd be all for something pretty to see when I (accidentally) tilt my camera up. xP

I wonder if events occurring in game will be visible in the sky. Maybe events such as FATE, or some of those big mama jama primal fights that pop up once every two weeks they were talking about. Wouldn't that be cool if you're just walking along, and then notice off in the distance bright lights as if there's a battle going on?

I was thnkng something like that, rift has events like fate were the whole sky and zone transform and everyone has to go there to close the rift

Yeah, I'd love to see something along the lines of the 'milky way trail' which can't be seen in real life anymore.
