In one of the live letter thingies, I seem to recall them stating that the original music of the Black Shroud is still there but broken into several pieces and scattered throughout the entirety of the area. Did I misunderstand them? There is no constraint that says you have to play a particular piece of music over a video. I'd be willing to bet that if they showed the other cities tomorrow that the music would be the same. I'm really just saying we have no reason to be sure, although we might and I've just missed it.
(And honestly I'm not really impressed by this particular piece of music.)
Its awesome how they changed this area, good job
I really really really really hated the black shroud. The first time I made my character I started it in the gridania, but after looking at the map I was all like 'hells no', then deleted and restarted in limsa. Gridania area looks like the forest place I wanted to start in now, not some ugly tunnel maze.
My favorite area so far is the village like area with the stone walls. I wish I could live there. So peaceful looking.
Amazing!!! Can't wait! XD
This also shows how bad was the damage Dalamud cause. The once lushes Black Shroud has returned to when the earth has just begun it's evolution.
I think the game looks so awesome!! Does anyone know how it will work when it comes out? Will I have to delete the old version and download the new one? Or does it just install over the old one?
There may not be such a constraint, but it makes no sense for them to include music in this video that isn't from the zone's they are showcasing. There is no constraint that says you have to play a particular piece of music over a video. I would appreciate it if the devs would clarify this for us. Is the music playing on these videos the actual zone music of the zone showed?
as per you not being impressed by the music, that is purely personal taste and completely subjective. I personally find it fits the zone very well, and all the tidbits I have heard so far are composed very well.

I am nothing but impressed on the detail and work put into the zones and the music. If there was anything I would of wished for out of the team, it was to give me that feeling of Final Fantasy in the old days with a online experience. Every video I see, I feel like that wish is coming true.
The music, what can I say? SOKEN and his team are just fantastic at bringing that FF feeling in simply with the music. This sounds like quality that we would get in other FF titles+1. While Nobuo Uematsu is still a brilliant composer, and even FFXIV 1.xx's soundtrack was great, it felt really out of place at times and don't feel like some themes fit into the world at all.
I look forward to how Thanalan, La Noscea, Coerthas, and Mor Dhona are handled both in the graphical and sound department. I really feel like they nailed it with the atmospheric forest theme of Black Shroud and look forward to seeing the other regions.
Can't wait to see it all!! Thx for the video!!
Btw, mandragoras?
