The jumping is bad. Oh wait..

In the more likely scenario of ARR succeeding, I guess it will be the other half telling you to GTFO?Sadly, you have the other half of the community telling people to stfu about the legitimate issues or "it's only alpha"..despite Yoshida saying he wants even alpha to reflect the quality players expect/deserve.
"This is how it's supposed to be in MMORPGs, gtfo."
Oh well when ARR flops wonder where and who they'll be telling to gtfo
Alpha is alpha, and opinions are opinions, but you can only beat a dead horse but so many times. Its much better train of thought to actually contribute criticism towards bigger issues than your opinion of animations or jumping. If you are an alpha tester, I would prefer you look for possible game breaking bugs or mechanics. Not "Ohh my jumping and running look funny.".

JUMP?! I want my feet glued to the damn ground!no jumps no jumps no jumps! [/fakerantoff]
I think the number of people growing tired of Elaxia's out of the ass comments is higher by the day lol. Here's what I get from your recent posts, "ARR will fail" "ARR is just the same as any other MMO" "FFXIV sucks" god change the damn record, I have barely seen any suggestions just an idea that it's going to fail for not standing out with no ideas how the game can stand out.
Why are you still here?
Sorry Mod, don't wanna derail your thread, but it had to be said.
If only I had a dollar for every dude I saw paying a game's subscription only to spread FUD on its forums..
Which issues have people been brushing off, is the question I'm asking myself. I think jumping and physics are tertiary issues at BEST. So, let's get a dialogue going about what we WOULD like to see.In the more likely scenario of ARR succeeding, I guess it will be the other half telling you to GTFO?

I also see a link between jump complaining and lack of aspiration for end game content. Some people just focus on tiny things that, by their perspective, ruins their gaming experience because most of their experience is leaning on what it looks like for one half and the other half using the client as a pretty looking chat room.
Some graphics and animations will get dumbed down possibly if that means creating a better flow of the game's mechanics. If they can balance this even further --which is a good possibility and we'll find out more during beta-- you might see more animations your character performs through their movement; stop animation, climbing on your chocobo, ect.
We're not going to know these things til' the development team are sure that implementing them looks promising. They have been doing pretty good job giving out information as far as SE goes, and I know you really want more questions answered, but as a business it's unwise to say you're going to work on something then not finish it. This instance obviously still happens, but I think they'd want to avoid it as much as possible.
I always chuckle when I see posts that imply that Yoshi-P is this fickle, empty shell of a director/producer that is without character/taste and makes his decisions for the future of the game based primarily on what he sees on our forums.
Get over yourselves guys. He's had a plan long before we even knew 2.0 was a thing that was happening. If the dev team or Yoshi-P has replied to any questions with more than "we'll look into it" then it was a topic they had already brought up and thoroughly discussed in a much more professional matter than the best discussions these forums ever had or will have.
If you guys think that kicking and screaming over jumping is gonna make him decide to implement radical measures such as limiting jump or removing it, then I'm sorry to say you're delusional. If you think that the way jumping is right now in any way ties into the argument that "the game will fail" then you are beyond delusional. If you match these descriptions, and happen to be mentally sound, then you're a troll.
They've got a vision, and in order to reach it in the best way and properly pay respect to their fanbase - especially those who stuck with 1.0 - they maintain regular communication with them and consider their opinions/thoughts/ideas.
What comes first, and foremost, is their existent vision.
I enjoy seeing a debate, but I'm also getting tired.
I'm not going to let a Lvl 1 Marauder ruin my Immersion.- Even if they did experience all of Version 1 as a lvl 1.
- otherwise since from the Alpha footage, that's exactly how I jump, I have nothing to contribute to that matter. - when did being able to search for a Linkshell get added to the Lodestone BTW?
