As others have said, thank you for the hard work you and the team put into reviving this game. This game couldn't have asked for a better producer.
As always, looking forward to ARR. Hopefully it's not too far away.

So many nice words for Yoshi-P and the dev team, my faith in the community is being restored![]()

Thank you all so much Yoshida and XIV Devteam ;3
I have played WOW for 6 years, and other MMOs until I came to FFXIV, and I can honestly say that I felt way more immersed in the world of Eorzea and its story than I did with my other MMOs.
And I felt a strong sadness when I saw my beloved Eorzea being burnt by Bahamut. When Deathwing did his breaking of Azeroth, I didnt shed a tear or feel anything. But I was watching the last trailer with a huge lump in my throat and cried a little when I saw Louisoix heroic sacrifice saving us all :'(
The community is also some of the nicest and helpful I have seen too. Asking questions as a beginner in XIV, people explained it to me, and even escorted me around, while in WoW when I asked newbie questions, i was mostly getting. OMG NOOB, go read WOWhead etc.
FFXIV may have gotten off on a very rough start. But I honestly felt I could fully trust the development team that things would get better and they have. And it has been fun to see the game truly evolve since I started my account July 7th 2011 ^_^
I will be sad to not play XIV and my Altera for a while, but I will remain patient for A Realm Reborn as I am sure it will become an awesome journey and looking forward to making more friends as I venture through Eorzea once again
Tusen takk Yoshida & Team ^^ (Norwegian thank you)

Thank you YoshiP, and to the entire dev team. You guys are doing some amazing things in such a short time.

I can't thank you and the XIV team enough for turning this ship around. The End of an Era trailer was great, and ARR looks amazing! To our loyal fans,
I wanted to take the time to personally thank all of you once again for your support over the past two years. It has been a long, hard journey, and there is still much more road left to travel, but we could have never made it this far without each and every one of you providing the strength for us to carry on.
Since the release of the End of an Era trailer, we have been flooded with positive feedback from around the world. It was always our goal to create something that would equal the epic cinematics players have come to expect from the FINAL FANTASY series─not just graphically, but in terms of story and emotion, as well─and we are excited to see that so many were moved by the plight of Louisoix and the Eorzean Alliance.
This five-minute tribute to the heroes of Eorzea may mark the end of one era, but at the same time, it represents the dawn of another. To ensure that era is a truly breathtaking experience, we are paying close attention to even the smallest of details. As such, we must ask that you bear with us while we continue the creation process─though I believe most of you will find that it will have definitely been worth the wait.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you again soon.

I must concur, I was blown away by the finale. I still think about that ending it was SUPERB! I want to thank the dev team for all of their hard work, it has been worth the wait.
I hope in future maybe you can wow us with more timed events like this to advance the main story line. The last moments were absolutely awesome, and I know I'm not alone.
I wondered what you guys must have thought when you finished that CS for finale, it must have been hard to wait to see what happened. Obviously, your dedication to the franchise, and creative thought made for an incredible turnaround.
Bravo, SE. I'll say it again, BRAVO!

Me at the end of the trailer!!!!!!

I'd like to join in with others in this thread (and elsewhere) in congratulating you and your team on an excellent job with XIV since you came on board. Considering what the game was like when you accepted the task of turning it around, with the changes, additions and improvements made along the way - none of which could have been easy, given what you had to work with and the limitations on what you could do - it would be dishonest of me to say you achieved far more than I believed possible with FFXIV. I had serious doubts and felt certain that FFXIV had its shot, fell too short of the mark, and that would be the end of it.To our loyal fans,

I'm glad to say, now, that I've never been happier to be wrong.
What you've done with XIV 1.0 alone is impressive enough.
What we've seen for 2.0 looks to be even more impressive and amazing. Although, I do maintain a degree of cautious optimism until I get to play it for myself and get a more hands-on feel of the new world and th changes made, I have to say that, with each update and each new peek into the new world awaiting us, it's getting harder and harder all the time to contain my excitement.
Now, about the 'End of An Era' cinematic. You, sir, and your team have struck absolute gold with that. When you say that you wanted to bring that Final Fantasy sense of story and emotion into it, you were spot on - and your artists, writers, and everyone else involved absolutely delivered. You nailed it. That is one of the most powerful, epic, and moving videos I have seen for a game, in recent memory, or ever for that matter. That's the kind of emotion and tension that - to me - has mostly been missing from XIV since the beginning. I wasn't sure what to expect from the movie when I started watching it for the first time, and saw those first fireballs screaming down from Dalamud... but by the end, I was definitely moved to being legitimately choked up. A good story should move you, and move me it did. Amazing work. I watch it at least 2-3 times a day, and have "Answers" playing several times more than that while I'm working, etc.
The praise you've been receiving, from players, fans - and even some non-fans - is well-deserved.
My hope, now, is that the same passion, emotion and power that went into that 5:53 of beauty is carried over into the game itself. With that on the back of a solid and exciting new game, I have a feeling you'll more than just "turn the game around". I can see XIV becoming a major hit among MMO gamers, Final Fantasy fans or no.
So again... fantastic work, excellent job and Thank You for accepting the challenge of taking on XIV "way back when". I think it's safe to say you've picked up more than a few fans along the way. I'm certainly one of them!
All the best to you!
