Is the "hero" party from the cinematic opening?

At least the latest 2.0 ARR trailer includes a mnk and dragoon :P

b-b-b-b-but i wanted to see a DRG jumping on Bahamut and failing in the process due to how high bahamut was ;-;
or a MNK charging a Shoulder tackle at a lala imperial soldier (Very short) and sending him to dalamud. ;-;

I think the Hyur was only temporarily an Archer due to whatever intervention caused him to travel through time into that battle. But we can see him carrying a sword while traveling with the Elezen and Miq'ote. And the classes they switched to were all relatively similar to one another. The Lala stayed in the field of magic, the Hyur was still melee as was the Rog. I just feel as if we see her again, she will be a melee class. But that's just my opinion

Perhaps when they make a new trailer, she'll come back as a Musketeer?

The odds are more in the favor since there are more melee than mages, but I don't see a lala being a SMN to be honest. I'm not saying it'll be the female Elezen, but I would expect a different race. I expect them to add female Rog's and Male Mithras in the next trailer, which will probably change the roles of some of these heroes.

I'm gonna go with the idea that since the five shown in the EoE cinematic represented each race, a certain party member had to catch the /pcmd kick.

I also like to think choreographing the action in the video in time with the song forced them to limit exactly who was shown.

Would be neat if we got content revolving around them, especially something to do with either the great labyrinth of bahamut or some garlean empire thing since they were there, they could be like hildebrand and adventure with us as we go o;!

Definitely male... I'd know that Elezen male stance anywhere; cuz my character is actually modelled directly after the Elezen male in the original 1.0 opening CGI.

I too was seriously wondering where the Elezen female was... I actually love this party and the lore regarding them won't be the same without her (if I remember, weren't both she and our Warrior hero the "face" for FFXIV when it first launched?)

Reckon she decided that our excellent little Lalafell WHM was very adequate enough on heals, (she too could heal in the original trailer)... so she heads out to become one of the following options:

- Hikes to the wilderness of destroyed Ala Migho to train in becoming a Monk
- Travels to Limsa and becomes a dual welding Musketeer
- Wanders off to Sharlayan to become a Samurai or Ninja (she was VERY agile in the trailer)
- Hot foots it to Ishgard to train with the knights to become Dragoon

I like the last option best...kinda fits very well with the DRG AF storyline plus it will best explain why she was not at the final battle. We can definitely assume that the Holy See charged her with commanding the knights in protecting Ishgard

If not that, then the third option... will be a great way to integrate Samurai job class into the party's lore. Love this thread btw... awesome read. Be well.

Based on the Black Mage facial features, odds are strongly favoring it being the female.
