How to *NOT* make friends...

Elitism will get you nowhere, especially in a game which requires you to depend on others. Putting others down and acting like your poo doesn't stink doesn't benefit anyone and it certainly isn't helpful to the community. Okay?

I've probably just had the rudest encounter I've ever experienced in the ten years I've been playing mmo's. (Hi Point Zero of Trabia, this is directed at you!! ^^)

So, I'd just finished levelling Conjurer to 20.. got my Cure II etc, happy as can be. I switched back to Marauder then went to join a party for behest in Camp Horizon. I thought I would be helpful and buff everyone up before we headed off.

As soon as I finished buffing everyone this guy decided to lay into me about casting Shock Spikes. He didn't bother to tell me why (feel free to enlighten me as to why I shouldn't use Shock Spikes during behest!).. he just told me not to cast it and after saying "Sorry, why?" He told me that I need to go play single player halo so my gameplay isn't affecting everyone else. He then proceeded with his annoying long macro in five different languages about not hitting monsters that aren't red. That's just the short of it, but you get the gist.

Now, let me give you some advice, Point Zero (and all of you other elitist rude people out there!) The next time this happens why don't you offer some advice or help instead of being such a tool. It might make you a new friend which is entirely more beneficial than a new enemy.

Anyway, has anyone else experienced anything like this?

The shock spikes thing is because of the current claim rules. if your spikes damage a behest mob with out it being engaged it tanks the sp gain a bit.

I've had similar issues, but not with someone nagging about red named-mobs. (In fact, I do it, but in a nicer way. I treat everyone as equal, and if asked why, I answer nicely.)

It's more of those who don't listen and decide to bring over to your party 4 bombs and a trio of hippocerfs to have fun with. I'm sure we enjoyed that experience.

Yes if an unclaimed mob attacks you and takes damage the sp you gain from it after you eventually kill it is reduced

Sorry to hear you got treated like that for not knowing about some dumb game mechanics that make you gain less sp if the mob is already damaged by the time you claim it Tetriana. He should have explained why it's not ok to use Shock Spikes in behest and not just assume you fail at the game for (again) not knowing about some dumb game mechanics.

On a side note I'm not exactly sure why but I liked your picture a lot, you are smiling but at the same time I can see you thinking screw you Point Zero, that's funny ^^

Please drop claiming system for instanced mob...

I don't justify those elitists, but I do put the blame on this silly claim system... It's pointless to have in something like Behests or Guildleves and casues many fights among the players... (OMGNOWAI U LOST A WHOLE 2 SP!?!?1/1/1three) XD

Since unclaimed mobs attack in 90% of the time of BW behests, Shock Spikes will make them lose HP, thus causing the team to lose some SP...

I already thought of a fair solution of claiming normal non-instanced mobs: Just make the party size decide the number of mobs that can be claimed. For example, if it's a party of three players, three mobs max can be claimed at all times, if it's eight member party, then eight.

That way you will not see a soloer claiming 3948934 mobs, and it will add a very nice edition to party play with much new challanges!

That's all he really had to say! I haven't been playing too long and I don't know absolutely everything there is to know yet. Give me a break!
