I feel like you guys are missing the point of this world event. The point is to see a world in ruins ready to be destroyed. There is supposed to be chaos. It is for this reason alone that they did the final save before it started (It wouldn't be fair to kill everybody repeatedly and repeatedly deteriorate everybody's gear).

Fact: Everything you do right now will not be saved. SE is not expecting anybody to do anything right now. They aren't not going to show you some important piece of the story because we all didn't figure out how to mass pray at multiple stones. Everybody is going to see the full story (if any) if they tune in at the impact time. Everything that is happening right now is for fun. There is no goal or objective. Just enjoy it.

The only reason there are articles about the praying on the front page is because that's the final step of the storyline. You take out Darnus and then you are asked to pray at the deity stones (Quest: "Living on a Prayer"). The articles are for people who didn't complete the story...they are essentially informing those players that people around the world are praying to their deities. Then when impact time hits and the deities appear and whisk us all away to a timeless realm it will make sense to those who weren't able to complete the storyline.

The praying articles are nothing but a way to catch others up to speed who did not finish the 7th umbral storyline. That is the more logical answer.

I'm going to repost this in the other prayer threads but here's another thing to consider, going off the evidence at the stones that there is one of each "class" of imperial do we need to have a party that consists of one of each class or job? Does it need to be a full party of eight or can a "Lucky 7" do the job?

Viion, your grand finale was "To Kill a Raven." I'm not sure if you can get more epic than that. You take an airship up to a floating island with Dalamud hanging over head and clash with Darnus. Then when you defeat him you are rewarded with a celebration and begin your pilgrimage to the stones. That was your finale.

What you see now is unpreventable. It's merely an end of the world scenario where there's nothing you can do. It's supposed to be a hopeless scenario. In terms of the story, all that is left to do is pray. The stones are glowing because in terms of the story, they began to glow after the "Living on a Prayer" storyline. They are glowing to indicate hope. That something might happen.

All that is left to do is wait till impact time.

My only thing is that in the ARR cutscene it looked to me that the adventurer's were on the field of battle fighting the VIIth legion in the new area. So we should already have been expeled.

That's what Living on a Prayer hinted to in the end, however I'm thinking it's just leading up to that trailer/cutscene. I was hoping it would happen in-game but with the final save already in the past I'm thinking that's not going to happen. Right now it's looking like that timer will hit 0, Dalamud will "hit", that trailer will be released and it'll be the final bit of the 1.0 story leading into 2.0.

You could burn all your items and throw yourself into the arms of the strongest enemies and nothing's going to change.
You're supposed to be dying.

And maybe if you have someone run up the tower and touch the ebon panels you can stop his Regen and keep him from using benediction.

So what I'm thinking is.. they started at the gates and now they're working their way inwards.. in a couple of days or so we should have the battles leading up that massive stairwell leading up to the Council chambers, with another day or so of battles taking place in the actual council chambers..maybe with Raubin helping out? Unless he's already in Mor Dhona..once those battles are quelled..the battle goes to Mor Dhona itself for non stop Imperial assaults.

If there's nothing, well, ARR is what matters anyway,
but if there IS something, then i love how they've started it.
The impossible battle for the first few days sets the tone really well.
