i think you're missing the point on what this thread is about. This isn't arguing for or against reigonal servers. The is is just the OP making some observations he felt were interesting.I used to play ffxi back in the days. Searching for a party during japanese time was nightmare. Most japanese players would have in their search comment "<japanese> pt only". Notice how I said "MOST", because generalizing would be ignorant and racist. While this might just be anecdotal evidence, these were my experiences in ffxi. Sure, I played in japanese parties, in my 6 years of playing ffxi I joined a grand total of 4 japanese parties; and was rejected, or told " <I'm sorry> jp only" countless times. My gear was always on point, I even had BB for monk, and my skills as a player were ok, so other than nationality, and language, there was no difference between me, and a japanese player.
I really do think that we should have different servers for each nationality. Don't get me wrong, I dont mind playing with japanese players at all, I believe that if you know what you are doing, you dont really have to speak. If I get invited to a party as a PLD I know I am going to tank, as a BLM I know I am going to nuke, it is not rocket science. But being rejected just because I am american, or from Spain, is just plain ignorant, and it is stress that I do not need.
Also, and I am not sure if there are ways around this, but it would make it more difficult, and maybe not feasible. But, region specific servers might put an end or at least hinder the gil sellers. I dont know about this las one though, thoughts anyone?
The person that made the thread stated “so not everyone is for "japanese onry" servers, like everyone is saying over here.” So my post is directed that this statement. Just like the person that made this thread, I am just stating my observation and experiences in ffxi.
