May we have quick clarification regarding the White Ravens (earrings)?

Confirmed to be only obtainable for the next 12 days (as of this edit, final save is November 1). Time to get people to do it if you've run into similar roadblocks like I have (i.e. "But I wanna shiny Relic even though it'll always be available!"). The Twelve know I've been trying to.

I know that "Items obtained through events associated with the coming of the Seventh Umbral Era, such as over-aspected clusters" are not going to be available in ARR. But I was just wondering if the White Ravens obtained via Rivenroad (Hard) are considered in this category.

After all, the Imperial gear obtainable from Castrum Novum are going to be available in ARR, despite Castrum Novum being part of the Seventh Umbral Era plotline.

So I would love for a Rep to clarify (not user speculation, sorry) whether or not the White Ravens count as an unobtainable item in ARR. Just so I know if I should stop trying to force people to do the fight, and do other things peacefully.

    Much thanks.

They most likely are. Rivenroad is directly a part of the 7th umbral era storyline (the end and climax in fact) and is most likely not sticking around for 2.0. This isn't 100% certain but pretty much everyone is treating it as if it's going to disappear.

Begging for rep clarification generally doesn't get it to you, so you'll have to settle for user speculation for now.

Just assume that it is going to disappear and make it a priority if you care about it.

Just so I know if I should stop trying to force people to do the fight,
I would think people would WANT to do this and shouldn't have to be "forced..."

Oh I have, and you'd be surprised how many people want to do Relic instead. It's technically wrong of me to force them to try to do something I want. But I guess I'm just getting too anxious. :P

When are you on anyway? Haven't chatted w/ you in a while!

Yes it really would be appreciated. I'm leaning on no, as it's a quest reward but... well, it's also kind of a dick move to withhold something like that.

I mean, everyone who beat the story basically got nothing (a first for the online FF series - XI always rewarded you with some epic accessory or armor at the end) and it's not an easy fight at all. The fact that you have to try it and lose several times just to farm the curtains is itself a complete troll on the devs' part. I dunno, I feel like beating him in the main story should have been enough, and give everyone who beat the Hard fight an achievement instead.

I mean the earrings are good, but they're not *that* good - and it'd be a huge load of my LS and I's minds to know we can still obtain it in ARR (perhaps in the Crystal Tower?) and instead of stressing every single day that we have yet to beat it, we can just go about having our fun trying to get some of the exclusive achievements before they're gone.

Again, my beef isn't with the difficulty of the fight so much as the timed exclusivity of it - it really feels like a kick in the balls to all of us who've stayed loyal since the game launched by being taunted with those earrings.

This doesn't make sense to me. Relics, while a bit time consuming, aren't nearly as hard as they could have been, AND your progress on the relic quest will be preserved for 2.0. people ought to be prioritizing things they know they could be missing over things that aren't going anywhere.

You and I have talked about this before. People in this game do weird things, lol.

    Pretty much this.

If you want to get the Earings you should be trying now as chances are not good that they will not stay.

However, it is possible they move on to 2.0, since when they say directly Umbral related and mention overaspected crystals those are items that didn't existed till the Umbral event. However Nael existed before, like the primals (who are moving on, even though they play a part in the Umbral story) so its not guaranteed everything is said and done. There may be more Nael in 2.0, and there may be more earings with that Nael (or maybe new items entirely).

This is all may and may nots though. Right now White Raven is available, thats what we know. If you dont like playing the gamble then really right now is the only time you should think of as being true.

Of course gettings a full list from reps/devs of what Umbral items that are being taken out would be lovely.

I don't know why Nael would be in ARR; it's assumed he's dead once the story fight ended, unless something else is going on. Rivenroad (Hard) was designed for a greater challenge and to exclusively reward the players capable of winning the fight with the earrings.

Really, any content that's permanently disappearing in ARR shouldn't have remnants of it popping back up after the fact. It's assumed either Castrum Novum or some other Imperial Base will be in existence since those items will still be there.

    From this link:- http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com...9e76ce9a93e367
Note: Company seals and items not explicitly mentioned in this post will not be changed. However, the methods for obtaining these items in FFXIV: ARR may be different.
I believe the white ravens will be obtainable in 2.0.

Because "The Raven, Nevermore" quest is not a part of the umbral story line. It is a side quest from it just like "Taming the Tempest" and "Ifrit Bleeds, We Can Kill It" aren't part of the umbral story but "It Kills With Fire" and "In For The Garuda Wakening" are parts of the umbral story.

As such I'd say the earrings are likely to be present in ARR just maybe obtained differently. but as they're not mentioned in that post the quote above says they will not be changed.

He goes into a spirit death, everybody knows if a boss spirit dies he can come back SE boss rules 101. He was alluded to sephiroth more then once, everybody knows Sephiroth laughs at death.

He talks about forming himself with Dalamud - Dalamud crashes into the ground (meteor), now he is a superpowered meteor fragment (sound anything like FF7? ^_^).

The more I think about it the more you could easily do a fully SE typical story plot from it.

While I cant say it WILL happen I can say its not impossible he comes back.

Also all this happening would allow Nael to remove himself from the Garlean allegiance(like Sephiroth was with Shinra but then was too badass to care and left).

Seriously sounds like a FF7 is breeding in FFXIV.
