in game lore, chocobo itself isn't native of eorzea. They could release a new expantion with a new continent and fill it with bangaa, viera and ronso, and still be totally legit :||Because it's the equivalent to adding Sephiroth in as a companion. I don't mind the mount system they have planned for the future, because those are all mobs in the current FF. Stuff like Magitek is acceptable, because it actually exists in this game. Adding in Red XIII as a mount would be no better than the retconning Blizzard constantly does with WoW.
inb4 "Well we're getting Crystal Tower and Golden Saucer so lol enjoy your fanservice game!" It's not the same as ripping a fucking character model from another FF so shamelessly.
Well gee, let's just add Viera and Bangaa and Ronso and just say that they were in hiding all along!

Chocobos aren't native to Eorzea but they've been established in Eorzea. Not only that, but they're also an iconic reoccurring theme in the Final Fantasy franchise. Ronso, Viera and bangaa have only existed in the Ivalice Alliance. They're established in the Ivalice Alliance, and only there. It wouldn't be legit at all.
EDIT: Ronso are only Spira, I was thinking of Seeq. Same shit applies.
Typhoon has existed in FF6, 7, and that shitty Unlimited anime. He was also set to make an appearance in Type-0 and was a DLC battle in FFXIII-2. He's a reoccuring enemy/summon. Magitek is fanservice, yes, but to a much lesser degree than say fucking Red XIII. Magitek exists in Eorzea/Garlemald.Except....they have ripped some things "shamelessly" already and will be doing so in the future (did you see Typhoon?) I get what you mean but they are straight ripping things so don't be surprised, this is a fanservice game, they already straight ripped Magitek models and you're not bitching lol.
