Why can't it be fall in Love month. Does anybody ever talk about "Falling in Love" your more work than what it is worth. lolNow that it's been made official that Primal and Darklight sets are confirmed to return in A Realm Reborn, that basically reveals one truth: It's time to get greedy with Gil.
Since our gil won't be adjusted, while 2.0 prices will become 10% of what it currently is right now, Gil is a lot more precious overall right now.
Since Atomos is pretty much dead as far as content goes (since people were using it to make gil instead of seals), that pretty much leaves the good ol' fashioned way. Materia, crafting and farming.
Get to work, folks. Time to build that "Rainy Day" fund up.
Bastok
craft bots, craft bots everywhere month.
So many people are freaking out over this, its funny. Its virtual monies, it literally comes from an inexhaustable source. It may not be ideal and it may be a little slower if people start being asshats and jack up prices over for stupid reasons. But the one thing remains the same, the source of gil is still limitless, just as it was when the game began.
Relax.
At 1.0 launch lvl 10 gear was selling for 200k+ , they may not get as much on ARR but they sure as hell wont lower 80-90%... might cut the avrg price by 20%.. the only items that will have a big change are the 20 mil+ gil items. All the average gear and popular materials will most likely still stay in the same area minus maybe 20%.. but 90% les.. LOL
At launch the game also hosed you down with gil for looking in the direction of the leve counter not to mention the main scenario stuff. Things are worth as much as people are willing to pay.At 1.0 launch lvl 10 gear was selling for 200k+ , they may not get as much on ARR but they sure as hell wont lower 80-90%... might cut the avrg price by 20%.. the only items that will have a big change are the 20 mil+ gil items. it dont bother me i spent my money lol. im waiting to till ARR to do anything now.
Nobody will be able to buy stuff if people try that, then when they can't sell their shit they will quickly figure out they have to drop the price a lot more. Stuff is only worth what people will pay for it, and when everyone has less gill, they won't be willing to pay as much for it.At 1.0 launch lvl 10 gear was selling for 200k+ , they may not get as much on ARR but they sure as hell wont lower 80-90%... might cut the avrg price by 20%.. the only items that will have a big change are the 20 mil+ gil items. all gil is being scaled by the same amount. Current gil, gil given by quests, gil taken away as fees, gil prices at vendors... people will not be able to get away with minimally altering the price. They won't have any customers because nobody can afford to pay those prices. If an item is common, it has to be priced at a rate where common people will buy it, otherwise it won't sell and people will just find the item themselves. Some rare items may see somewhat of a cost increase, but that's only becvause few people buy these things already, so people not buying them won't make the supply go up as fast.
Either way, prices will adjust over time. People just don't understand economics and simple concepts like supply and demand.

All of you stop worrying about gil. October should be about this instead:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oktoberfest :P
On a serious note:
There is no reason to step up any gil making effort right now unless you know something we dont. There is no evidence that any one is gonna become unable or have a lesser ability to make gil in ARR. There is only unhealty speculation at the moment. The only way you can shoot yourself in the foot in ARR is if you buy at 1.0 prices because your fat wallet fooled you into buying at those old prices !
We will all have to adapt and divide our buying/selling prices by 10. There will be fluctuations at start and stubborn sellers using shouts only (watch out for taxes if using 1.0 prices). It's all in our heads !
Do not buy at 1.0 prices in ARR ! For all of our sakes.

Where did you see that Primal and Darklight gear will still be around post-2.0? Source please? I've been trying to look into this for a while...
