he does have a point though.. I am grinding for gil right now, and all month. I only have 2.3 mil.. so thats 220k gil in ARR. I do not want to go in there shit poor, so am hoping to get to 10 mil atleast and walk in with 1 million. because no matter how much they lower it, people will still charge high as fk

No they won't. This will all be ironed out in the first few days of the beta where we get to use our characters. People will realise their stuff isn't selling and are getting undercut by 80-90% and stop "charging high as fk".

At 1.0 launch lvl 10 gear was selling for 200k+ , they may not get as much on ARR but they sure as hell wont lower 80-90%... might cut the avrg price by 20%.. the only items that will have a big change are the 20 mil+ gil items. All the average gear and popular materials will most likely still stay in the same area minus maybe 20%.. but 90% les.. LOL

At launch the game also hosed you down with gil for looking in the direction of the leve counter not to mention the main scenario stuff. Things are worth as much as people are willing to pay.

Nobody will be able to buy stuff if people try that, then when they can't sell their shit they will quickly figure out they have to drop the price a lot more. Stuff is only worth what people will pay for it, and when everyone has less gill, they won't be willing to pay as much for it.

all gil is being scaled by the same amount. Current gil, gil given by quests, gil taken away as fees, gil prices at vendors... people will not be able to get away with minimally altering the price. They won't have any customers because nobody can afford to pay those prices. If an item is common, it has to be priced at a rate where common people will buy it, otherwise it won't sell and people will just find the item themselves. Some rare items may see somewhat of a cost increase, but that's only becvause few people buy these things already, so people not buying them won't make the supply go up as fast.

Either way, prices will adjust over time. People just don't understand economics and simple concepts like supply and demand.
