Panorama's of the end of the 6th Astral Era.

    Hey everyone!

Well, it's not long now until Dalamud ends the 6th Astral Era.
I couldn't pass up the opportunity to record the last breaths of a world in such turmoil.
As such, I've been capturing 360 degree panorama's (starting at about #3) of the various area's around Eorzea.
I'm slowly trying to record as many places as I can, so bear with me!
If you know of a location that you'd like recorded, by all means give me a heads up.
We've not long to capture these area's before they're gone forever.

Great job, Matty! Coerthas, Thanalan, and The Black Shroud are my favorites.

I would like to see Mako factories in Bluefog, Limsa Lominsa, and Gwyr-Aen (the stone circle east of camp Crooked Fork).

    Happy hunting~

Awesome idea! You should remember to turn display names off when you do these though. The 3rd one of Mor Dhona is amazing but if the names were off it would look a lot more natural.

You should get a panoramic picture of that one waterfall somewhere in Gridania where you had to pray to one of the gods. That place is gorgeous.

    Thanks guys!

Tsukaza....oooo....wonderful idea's! I'll add them to my map of places to visit.

WiiSam, aye! I remembered about turning off the names on the last one. Completely forgot about doing it for the first few, dou. I might revisit those places and take em' again. And bloody great idea about getting the waterfall! Scribbling that one on my map now too! :3

    Very, very nice!
May I ask how you create these?

I've only had limited success when stitching together multiple screenshots in Photoshop. And often, even when zoomed all the way out, I find that the vertical field of view is a bit too limited to get both Dalamud and the landscape in the shot.

I'd love to see more panoramas of Limsa Lominsa and Coerthas. ^^

(this one is 8 images stitched together -- 2 rows of 4 images across)

    Great pic, Mikita!

The Limsa Lominsa panoramic I'm thinking about would have to be taken from the outside, on a cliff overlooking the Thalassocracy. ;3

    Thanks Mikita!
I create them using an array of about 20 or so pictures. I start facing north, then simply take screenshots in a sweeping motion from left to right, then face south and do the same. After the initial "horizon" pictures are taken, I angle the camera up, and do the same sweeps again in order to capture the sky (keeping some of the horizon in view).

As for tools, I use a tool called Hugin (http://hugin.sourceforge.net/) that then pretty much automagically stitches em' all together! Since the screenshots don't have aperture information though, you have to manually set that (60 degree's works spiffy). Then you just have it align....and tada!

I'm going to be hitting up Limsa as soon as I'm done here at the Ayther Extractors (oh look....a friendly headrip ogre! I wonder if he'd be interested in tea....).
