I know everyone is going to say "Oh My... Gawd"So.... this is a screenshot with the left side image taken from the trailer released todayish "FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn - A New Adventure" and the right side image is taken from the trailer released a few weeks ago FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn - Limit Break Trailer both of are from the PC version of the game as it is the exact same footage. The confirmed a while back the new graphics engine would use far less textures and even in previous screenshots (like the paladin below, just look at the spirits within) held that cel-shaded look

But look at the grass here in the desert, and then go look at the grass in La Noseca areas (in 2.0 trailers)...
Why does La Noseca the super green plains have less grass then the desert? lol
I edited the post several times, sorry about that. I believe it is the exact same version of the game, not a weak pc or a ps3 version. It looks like they simply kicked up the lighting and increased the gamma.
Also, that grass is pretty bad lol
I think people questioning more on this image
less polygon/textures ?
Aion Zwei - Masamune
I'm really trying to hold off getting worked up about the graphics and everything.
Some areas are really nice, others are a little cringe worthy.
I want to get into beta or alpha and see what it's like with everything turned up.
But a benchmark would be a godsend atm, max'd out graphics, med and low settings, and let us see it on our own PC, it'll also give them great real world feedback on the current level they are at if it send scores and specs and we post up..
Dammit Aion I'm trying to unsee that image atm !
lol Bad is an understatement, I will hopefully be selecting off for grass in the options unless it gets some serious love.

Some of us want a BMW i8 which is fast and gorgeous to look at, and gets better gas milage then any prius, is fun to drive, but will cost an arm and a leg to get ;pDifferent people just prioritize and care about different things. That is the way of the world.
Some people think the perfect car is one that gets great gas mileage because that's what's important to them; while other people will drive big gas guzzlers because they want power and speed.
Some people prefer fast, responsive gameplay first and foremost; while others appreciate subtle improvements in graphics quality and animation.
There is no right or wrong.
Part of the reason this forum exists is to allow players to give feedback on what is important to them. Obviously some people care about the graphics quality and are expressing their concern on what they see as a serious downgrade to the game they play.
Ultimately it is SE's decision to make, regardless of all the hate, name calling, and mean spirited comments that get posted here.
I prioritize graphics and immersion, so I am expressing my opinion here in the hopes that SE takes it as one small vote from a dedicated player who likes the level of detail that was built into 1.0.
If ARR turns out to be a big enough disappointment in the graphics department, I'll just have to decide whether or not this is still a world I want to be part of.
My point was everyone is just now making a big deal out of it and it has been the same graphics in each of the videos, that was what i was trying to prove. The old videos are just much darker and typically zoomed out. It was a strategic play on SE's part t not show off "too much"
Well, I'm sure within the Coming days ( Tomorrow even), We should be getting more Screenshots, like all the other major events we got SS tied into whatever else they showed :P.
