Maybe it's just that particular song that didn't match my style. Cause the vast majority of the rest of the songs out there in the game are quite great. Maybe a faster string beat would of been appropriate cause I can imagine that same song in a scene from a Soap where a man smoke's close to a bar door and is upset that her girl had sex with his best friend...meh idk..
I agree with you on the song you presented, i'm not a huge fan of it either. Way too electronica for my tastes.

Since Final Fantasy IV, there's always been a balance of orchestral music and prog rock. (Some tracks even fused the two!) Let's hear some examples, shall we?

Final Fantasy IV - The Final Battle
Final Fantasy V - Battle with Gilgamesh
Final Fantasy VI - Decisive Battle
Final Fantasy VII - Birth of a God
Final Fantasy VIII - Maybe I'm a Lion
Final Fantasy IX - The Final Battle
    Final Fantasy X - Challenge

I'll stop there. I've never seen the problem with XIV's music in this regard.

Guildleve themes had hints of their region songs in them, so if anything they fit the most, except for the Coerthas one.

I love the music in the game, not all fantasy music needs to be like you're at a renaissance festival.

Actually, Starlight and Sellswords is probably the levequest theme which takes the most from its corresponding area theme, Unspoken...

I'd say it's more traditional Japanese, not really "tribal" but yes I completely agree with the OP.

Keep in mind some of the music is changing. Some music will be retired with new music added.

I generally do not listen to other music when I'm playing most games, unless the music in a game is particularly bad/overly repetitive (e.g. a 30 second loop). I like video games that have good music.
