An apology when you're cornered is not an honest apology.

Especially if you still maintain the notion that i ever "implied" someone is an idiot in here.

You are the kind of person who will falsely accuse someone to prove a point, and try to get away without proving their words. Choose an adjective here, assume i don't "imply" it, but clearly stating it.

that's the problem with apologies, even when you know someone intimately there is the chance that they don't mean the words they say and with regards to actions such as apologies, which require there be some emotion behind them for them to have meaning, it can make accepting such things on face value very difficult, especially when all you have to go on is text and context

given that, saying "Ok thank you for that apology" makes you look like much less of an ass, and helps others' opinions of you (which shouldn't affect the validity of your arguments, but let's be honest, they almost always do), than saying "You didn't mean that because of <reasons> and here is what kind of <negative descriptive> person you are"

being as confrontational as you have been in the later half of this thread will not only turn more people away from your position (given the silent majority's penchant for compromise and non-aggression), but also invites the types of responses you've been getting

in short, it doesn't help and if you are able to rise above any personal affronts your position would be better off as a result

You never give up do you, even when someone came forward and apologized.. and being cornered by "one other person" isn't what I call being in a corner. You should have accepted the apology " weather it was sincere or not in your eyes, and not provoked the situation any longer. I am a forgiving person. To the people that really mean it. When i said "cornered" i didn't mean "by a lot of people" but by logic and facts.

How would you feel if i accused you of calling others idiots and using "offensive memes" when you never called or implied anyone is an idiot, and the only "offensive memes" you posted was a knight on a horse, blacklisting you, and then keep talking this way to others about you, and then after i almost forcefully "apologised" i still maintain the notion that you did imply all those things?

I apologise. Sometimes i can't help myself not being "too honest", and i can understand how that can ignite situations.

i would just like to say to the moderator reading this that at least we're reviewing to treat people with kindness as our parents taught us when we were 4 years old
not ment to sound sarcastic or anything
but i hope its being shown clearly that the majority of people on this thread want to continue the conversation, and hope that this thread doesnt close because some people enjoy arguments

Speaking of apologies...

We were given an apology by SE for the failed attempt at a proper MMO the first time around. They decided to open their eyes and ears to their core community in response to their failure. They have taken a ton of our feedback into consideration at the least. And ARR is a result of that. Nothing is wrong with noting that more should be done about the animations. Without them, the game can still be great. But why would I say nothing when this forum exists for me to say something? Obviously, the thread has reached epic proportions, has been dev responded, and even moderated due to an overabundance of personal flaming. But even the moderator suggested to keep on topic due to a plethora of great suggestions and observations. This just goes to show everyone that SE does take this thread seriously. The people that want to think it silly for us to pick on the animations need to respect the perspective of their fellow neighbors and leave this thread alone if they have nothing constructive to argue with.

Yeah I would, because there's more to life then hold grudges, But my stance on you going all crazy because people don't 100% agree with you has not changed, until you prove me otherwise, and be more respectable to other people opinions, then I will retract my statement. IRL, I bet your an awesome person to be around, but online currently I'm just still annoyed at you, but I really don't want to be annoyed at anyone. As other people have stated before I'm the " Happy-go lucky" type person ( Gramul personally loves calling me this =)). and it takes alot to throw me off the edge, and you did get me there.

Of Course I wouldn't like it if I was accused of X thing, but as long as they said I'm sorry ( and the reason to why they are), I'm willing to forgive and forget. Even if they didn't say I'm sorry I would just forget about it because X person isn't worth my time if they can't come forward like a man and accept what X person did was wrong.

Very true. Now that they have the gameplay pillars to stand on, adding a bit of animation polish isn't really much to ask for with the lag issue fixed and reworked from the ground up (which is obviously the true reason for animation lock). FFXIV 1.0's elongated animation sequences were put in place to mask the amount of lag the game was experiencing. Hence, why the term "animation lock" even exists (a term invented out of thin air for this game alone). It was a problem in FFXI too, but was of a less critical problem due to its slower battle pace. ARR needs its own unique and subtler (shorter) animation cues for stopping, turning or landing that fit the new engine's capabilities.

From what we've seen ARR does have subtler (shorter) animation cues for stopping, however the stop is sometimes so abrupt that you don't see it. You don't just go from full stride to both legs standing upright in a single frame.

I'll agree that it would be nice to have them but at the same point if they don't I'm not going to give it another thought. I mean they know as well as we all do that 2.0 needs to be spectacular. Do you really think they'd make a decision like this lightly? If they're saying that they came to the conclusion that they needed to remove them then they probably really did need to remove them for one reason or the other. They've got more on the line, hinging upon 2.0's success than we do. This is their job and if they put out an awful product they could be out of a job, especially considering the weight put upon the success of 2.0.
