    IMO I'd rather not toss old FF stuff into the game, doesn't seem like it would mesh well together, each FF has it's own story & cast. Something unique in a FF way would be what I'd prefer. Just my 2 cent.

    There is always some things that link the different FF , Chaos and the 4 fiends , the crystals , summoning , fantasy with futurist things ( since the 7 ) , chocobo , mogs , the magic spells , etc ...

    Ps: almost forgot the void things , ultima arma , gilgamesh etc ...

    You forgot Cid, and Biggs and Wedge (since 6), and various mob types like Goblins, Cactuars, Tonberry, etc.
