Dude... just... man. Dude. This guy doesn't get it at all. o-o;;I always saw it odd for a guy to play as a chick. I don't give people crap about it but I see it as this. It is a fantasy world. so in your fantasy what do you want to be? Well some guys wish they could be strong powerful leading male role model heroes. and other guys wish to be a chick. Kinda like being gay. If you are gay then cool. I don't understand it because I am not gay but who am I to pass judgement on what you wish to be, or what turns you on, etc. Either way.. welcome.
I don't think every male that rolls a female 'wishes' to be a chick... (/petergriffinlaugh bewbies *honk-honk*)
I don't know why this post sounds so sexist... whats wrong with strong female role model heroes huh? So wait if a guy respects a female hero and wants to rp as one it automatically makes them gay... seriously did you like hit on to many cross dressing kitties and started QQing because you couldn't find a female online... seriously... I want to slap you...I always saw it odd for a guy to play as a chick. I don't give people crap about it but I see it as this. It is a fantasy world. so in your fantasy what do you want to be? "Thy life is a river to bear rapture and sorrow
To listen to suffer to entrust until tomorrow
In one fleeting moment, from the land doth life flow
Yet in one fleeting moment for the new leaf doth grow"

In Monster Hunter Tri, it was very creepy being a girl character in Barioth Gear, simply because people would give me free items and then try to hit on me ><.
I had it in my card that I was a guy. One guy started to call me very rude names such as faggot, and that was very uncalled for and immature.
When I see it in this game, I wish my hand could just travel through computers and nail whosever on the other side.
I've never been one to make a big deal out of what gender people's characters are and what-have-you. If I'm playing an RPG that allows me to customize my character, it's always the same design that I created when I was in my teens and drawing comics as a hobby: Male Elf, Dark skin, Gray eyes, Navy blue hair, Mage. Every, single time.
There are, however, a few things that make me grin about if someone is playing a character opposite of their own gender. One being, the excuse about looking at the character's rear all day. I can't really buy that one because when I'm playing, I rarely look at my character as opposed to my skill bar, mini-map, the party's HP (because I'm healing most of the time), the enmity indicators, my health, where people are positioned, the chat/battle log, and the enemy. Most of the time I'm looking around my character, rather than at him. I find myself chuckling a little when people say that they're staring at their character's butts for hours at a time. Doesn't seem very feasible to me, given all that's going on. But hey, whatevs.
Also, I am quite sure that I couldn't bear being called a girl's name. Just seems a little weird to respond if someone calls "Gina". Lol. Though some people give their characters names that aren't really any sex's names, but are rather the names of inanimate things or wild animals. So that works, too.
But, hell, it's not like any of it matters to me. I'm married, not here to look for a significant other. Lol I just call everyone "he", "him", or their character name and keep it rolling.
Well... "Common" sense isn't all that common anymore, now is it?

nice sig bro.
I'm Calypso Rose, and yes I am a man! And I have my reasons for playing a female character! Like the TC, my character creation has always been more about the story. With Mass Effect I decided it more my style to play a righteous/heroic male character. The same goes with SWTOR, every character I make fits in with what I envision for the story, it's different for everyone.
I'm sure for some it really can be as simple as "I'd rather stare at a girl while I play." I'm sure there's a reason Lara Croft is raiding tombs in barely any clothing. That's dangerous girl!
As for the whole he/she thing with most players I'm a little 50/50. With brief encounters I just assume you are what you are and I'll refer to your Miqo'te as a she or your male Lala as a he unless corrected. The same goes with your character's name whether feminine/masculine or not. It's a little different with my linkshell or closer acquaintances. It's definitely a bit more different when you know the person and vent/mumble with them frequently.
As for males playing females being gay? I'm not even going to further acknowledge how absolutely wrong that entire post is @_@, yikes.
ok this thread is as dumb as the grass and the jumping one who care's i dont ask if the person i play with is male female in real life i dont care i play to have fun we are only one thing and thats is fun
