Actually, races do have slight racial and gender bonuses and clan bonuses, however it doesn't fully matter as the stat system in this game is formulated badly.

I'd say neither, since those aren't in XIV. As it is, race doesn't have any impact upon stats in XIV, so go with whatever race floats your boat.
