Definitely. I feel this is true, when so many are complaining about trivial things like, jumping is unrealistic. Falling off cliff and taking damage is unrealistic. Jumping mounts are gonna be so ugly. Leave inventory like FFXI, instead of icons. Like come on. Have they ever played another MMO? Once you've tried what other MMOs have, you know it's not a big deal.

My hobby is beta testing MMOs...I swear, its like some players want this to be the most backwards, dated MMO ever, and the Twelve forbid using some of the improvements that are available in other MMOs to streamline gameplay (because that would be "copying"!). It sounds like Yoshi gets it.

And this game desperately NEEDS improvements if it is ever going survive as a viable, cash generating MMORPG on the modern PC market, because PC gamers are brutal about this, they are not a captive audience like a console player. You can't slap a 10 year old, laggy console UI on a modern PC MMORPG and expect it to do well.

I know a few who's first MMO was XI back in 2002, yet played at least 7 others between then and now.

I know a lot of people who played FFXI first. But I've never met a single other person who did not try any other MMO ever after liking XI.

I honestly dont think I know a single person who has only played FFXI and FFXIV..

I've played a few mmos here and there, but my first real, lasting experience in the genre is / was Final Fantasy XIV.

P.s it's funny that yoshi said that they'cant hear 100% what the current player base is asking, cuz they only played Xi or XIV. So they have very poor experience in mmo terms. This is a thing that i said many times before lol

There are also a lot of players who have a wider variation in MMO experience that think the game shouldn't try to turn into the global standard of current gen MMOs. I know I play FFXIV because I was tired of the countless games that follow the same set of rules for how things are done.

I want a game that involves use of the world for more than just a quest hub of hundreds of "kill 10 'insert monster name'", meaningful story missions with difficult encounters that tie into the plot, and a combat system that doesn't require me to replace a keyboard from overuse of the 1-4 keys. So far, FFXIV has satisfied me more in these categories than most of the previous MMOs I've played.

XI and XIV are only two MMOs.

I've tried WoW, Aion, Tera, Rift, LotRO and Guild Wars when it was free to do so but never really felt compelled to pay for them.

Probably shouldn't get our hopes up though. I have no doubt it'll LOOK cool, but we need to keep our expectations in line. They're not going to be the ub3r tools of destruction they were in 6. Looking forward to them regardless though (maybe we'll get to ride them through Garlemald at some point?! )

but the more i think about, and i havent even watched the video yet. Yoshi said in a previous showing that he wanted to create a "themepark" and since our world is being cut up and chopped down and squeezed into attractions. i want more themes. lol
