IF FFXIV is released a year Later, Tanaka would be a legend again

I personally blame all the fault to SE President who rush Tanaka to release the game too early.

Think on all the opposite ( I'm contridictive to my some previous thought, but I realizes something after reading the tread "Yoshi or Tanaka ?" )

Below are based on the game if release a year later.
1)Imagine, if there is 30~40NMs we can party to kill with.
if there is about 10 job we can choose to start with.
We need tank for sure, we need mage for sure, we need different melee for sure for incapsulate. So everyjob will be needed. This will keep LS activily busy as well.

    @r50 ,... or maybe @r75
Archer is already stronger in DMG weak in defense.
Gladiator for sure is alwasy the tank needed, supported by MRD.
Pul is a fun class to play, so is lancer , a very good dmg also support effect.
Conj need to work together with THM, their spell is very different actually.

2)If they didn't change SP, most player will only be able to play 1 class to top rank, and rank other class to just get some good r20 skill or r30 skill.
So is crafting, player feel much more acknowlege to being able to reach top rank craft and needed to craft something hard.

4)A lot of content will be out, new area, new equip, new leve camp, new job, new system...etc.

Tanaka is trying to make FFXIV a game is all different than any other game, especaily diferent than FFXI, still JP style, hard game to rank, so you actually spend more time in the game to enjoy communication and with good music and atmosphere. He just DIDN'T have enough time to polish the game, to adjust UI, to adjust paramter of allocation point, to adjust some skill effect, to put more content, to even do a internal beta-apha test. I'm not saying he's perfect, but he surely is a man of vision.

HOWEVER, most of current player(US mostly?) is asking to twist this game right now...toward..WOW?

Honestly, I've 4 rank50 displince of war and maigc, I'm not proud of it. I haven't play for a long time due to I've no idea what I wanna be or what everyone else wanna be.
Before I quit, I notice most of my LS player left the game once they reach 1~2 r50.
This is becuase now is TOO EASY to rank up. EVERYTHING is easy mode. So it can easily drive top rank player out of the game.

Now battle system is going to be like FFXI/Wow?, monster size is improportion to the surrounding, easy ranking.... All these are going to make PS3 version a super easy game for even a 15 years boy can play, for beginner to surprise, and probalby quit so fast after he realize the game is too easy..

    Who did this? Yoshi-P.

I think people quit because they get to level 50 and there isn't enough endgame to keep them occupied or they really don't want to level up again.

Also depending on the company circumstances, another year may or may not have helped. It was already in development for long enough as it was.

thge game woulda still have bugs, server instability issues. Remember tanaka joke? the longer the wait the more bugs it would have. The devs had to put aside content to fix bugs that caused server instability which was a tech issue. Once ffxiv oped in alpha it had tones of unexpected bugs. To the team focused on bug clean up. This was all in the "i;m sorry" letter. Not SE fault you didn't believe them even though there was evidence of nasty bugs.

I know a guy, he's a complete idiot, played EQ all his life and still does now.

He tried FFXIV, and when the reshuffle was announced, his opinion was: "Tanaka didn't know wtf he was doing."

That is the voice of an idiot. I guarantee you anyone here who has stated that this game's outcome is Tanaka's fault follows the same reasoning.

Tanaka was at a disadvantage anyway to begin with. If any of you saw this game during closed beta, it was significantly different than what it is now. He already had an idea, and the biggest mistake he could've made was listening to everyone who whined. I doubt that was even his decision in the first place also.

If he had focused on polishing off the game as it was designed back then, we might've seen a totally different outcome. Instead, we saw pointless changes to battle pacing, spells, MP amounts, etc., All of that was so petty. What's the point of playing a game if you're just going to decide all the rules yourself?

Kids today, all they want to do is play in a sandbox.

That's one of the worst things that a developer can do is listen to the fanbase. Players don't know what's good for them. What they think is "good" or "fair" isn't what makes a game great. Just think of what Super Mario Bros would have been like if there were no pits or if enemies just stunned you. That's what this game is turning into

EDIT: I would also like to point out that Yoshi-P is not destroying this game either. First Tanaka deserves to go to hell, Yoshi-P is a god among men and now it's reversed within a month? You all flip-flop so damn fast I am nearly getting whiplash. He is so busy fixing all the crap that Tanaka messed up on that he can't make the game into what it was meant to be. Let's see what the battle system changes are gonna be before you judge.

There is one thing devs need to listen. If during beta, oplayers say ' game is not ready' they should forward it to directors/marketing. 90% of game failures were rushed releases. Andafter that its almost impossible to overcome bad name game gets after dissapointing opening. I do hope SE manages to overcome it. ( without turnig game into Final WOW XI-2)

Nah. Tanaka showed signs of not caring to listen to the community since XI.

If it took them five years to deliver this crippled Eorzea, one more wouldn't make the difference.

The notion that you can botch the initial 80% and make up for it with the last 20% is not realistic.

If the game was rushed it was because it took way longer than was planned.

Releasing FFXIV in its current state was a huge mistake. Replacing Tanaka was not.

Yeah I agree listening to people will just make the game turn into hello kitty 2.0. This game is so easy that it actually angers me how easy it is to play, I hope they make it harder again -_-

I always find it funny how I live in a world where people will bash and berate a leader that creates shitstorm(understandable). Then when someone steps up and say "Hey don't worry I will take care of it." people will cheer him on(also understandable). However, I don't understand how after a short time frame people start bashing him/her as if the problem was so minor and how could he/she be taking so long(seriously? Did you forget?). We will never know what Tanaka could have done with more time however we still need to be patient to see what Yoshi-P will do. You can't judge an artist's work until the piece is completed.
