Since Jumping is confirmed, can we fall off a cliff, take damage, etc?

As far as I've heard, mounts won't be able to jump due to the complexity of the animation involved and other environmental issues. Not sure if it was totally ruled out, though.

Also doesn't make any sense. Complexity of animation what? Every MMO out there has mounts that can jump. And instead of just a chocobo, they have multiple mounts that need animation, tigers, horses, skeletal horses, dragon,

chocobo-like bird like below.
