This right here would make me assume not all his staff isn't just a bunch of random people who don't play MMOs or something.Q: Is it fair to say the PvP in Final Fantasy XIV is somewhat similar to World of Warcraft’s?
A: We will have a PvP arena, which is similar to the one found in World of Warcraft. Our PvP team members played many matches in World of Warcraft. Personally, I am a player of Dark Age of Camelot, a PvP-centric MMO.
I was aware of that comment before I made this thread. I commented about it on page one, but just because he played that a little bit back in the day doesn't show for much tbh. He has to have worked his self nearly to death to climb the latter like he has at SE. I doubt he ever has any time to play MMOs anymore. In addition to that he made a post a while back about how he's been dying to play diablo III but doesn't even have time to open the box.
There are people who have played MMO's nearly every day for over a decade, and regardless of how much anyone try's to deny it... They know whats going on more than anyone on any video games design team. Let alone the more average hard core players.

If you could tell me how to get on that bandwagon there >_>Lol the reason they are forced to copy paste responses is because they are timed on each one of their responses and have to meet the expected time, and number of responses per week. The job of GM is usually outsourced to other countries to keep spending down, and that's why they usually speak crappy English. It's probably the case with FFXIV too, a lot of GM's on MMOs tend to be from Brazil they have low wage laws there but it's still a first world country so good internet and such. Regardless if that's the case or not customer support jobs are almost always out sourced, so you can rest assured when you talk to a GM you're probably not talking to someone who directly works for SE.
I'm already from brazil and I know how documentation and protocol works so I hope I could compliment my income with it
Also I'm fairly sure they're nearly obligated to actually use all the same copy/pasted response as it is normal procedure in any organization to standarize their practices and documentation and, for a GM, the forums are pretty much documentation, i'm sure they all post here with their 'civilian' IDs as well. Hells, Rokien could one who's so mad at the community he's trolling the world

You are factually wrong, the community reps actually work in the NA SE headquarters, and hell, they actually represent the community on different events, Bayohne and co. actually were there. As far as I know, and I may be wrong, but the community reps don't get paid, and charity work isn't always the most efficient form of labor... Not only that who knows if anyone on the dev. team even reads or takes into consideration anything they forward over to them. It's not like the community reps make any of the shots.
Alright, if that's true I stand corrected then, Like I said I wasn't sure. Regardless the fact still remains how much do they actually play the game? Also how much of what they said is actually acknowledged? What makes them qualified? That they speak both English and Japanese and happen to live in the area of the NA office? I trust more the opinion of someone who hasn't seen the like of day in over a month and only gets up to go number two.
Wait? Isn't the whole forum doing what you want them to hire? Giving ideas and doing it for free? Actually we pay to give them ideas.I was aware of that comment before I made this thread. This game failed not because they don't know. They do know. But this engine was made for single players rpg. Not a MMO. Rest assured that ARR will show you that they know how to make a MMO. Look at FF 11
If you hire hardcore ppl, you will have the same old shit every year. Like call of duty.
Let the "noobs from SE" try new stuff. I don't want to play a MMO That is a carbon copy of WOW or Lineage.
