"Old" radeon 4870, newest and rolled back drivers. Can still log in with an alt. Used a friends computer with a radeon 5870 same deal.

On both the Uverse gateway/router and my linksys they haven't came out with a patch for it yet. The linksys does have the latest from their site.

That is only for "IPv6 only" correct?

It just makes it IPv6 compatible i think. I honsetly dont' know a whole ton about it. I do know that the addresses for IPv6 are different than IPv4. and i know the packeting format is different between the two. either one of these could cause your problem. but Lusavari has said he's updated his router so i'm not positive this will fix it. still, like always: worth a shot.

    ------------------

I have noticed that everyone i've seen post with this problem uses a radeon card.

Doing a forum search for GTX links mainly to performance issues/FPS drops, and one guy saying he got a disconnect issue, but it looked unrelated (lock up during crafting)

people with radeon cards and SLI setups seem to be crashing more than everyone else too.

    Lusavari,

did your buddy in canada have a radeon card?

    -------------

I've personally had a couple problems with my SLI setup, but that is related to heat and power draw. the engine in FFXI seems to dislike radeon and also SLI setups. but this most likely due to Japanese programs being relatively unfamiliar with these kinds of setups.

I'm assuming both of you are using the latest drivers. but in the interest of science it may be worthwhile to roll back your drivers to something from 2011.
