China will have separate servers because it's required by law so the government has access to them. Also the cooperation between square and the Chinese company is required by law. Has nothing to do with RMT and despite the almost racist attitude some western gamers have towards Chinese not all Chinese are RMT in fact Chinese players hate RMT as much as western players. the light regulation in china coupled with 1.4 billion people who need jobs are the reason why RMT trade is there in the first place.

They totally do (Forgot what game is was) but they crowded 12 servers in several places in the game to combat RMT themselves until GMs came along mass killing everyone, then they started fighting the GMs to try and get them to actually do something about the RMT...

I don't think any game has filled me with as much despair as Majora's Mask in the last few hours. The townspeople just all looking upward in utter fear, the Anju, Kafei sidequest where they say that they'll see the morning in together. The Romani sisters with the elder sister letting her little sister drink some alcohol to dull her senses.

I really hope they convey that feeling with XIV.

will china be sharing the same servers with the rest of the world? because their online community is HUGE meaning that we will be in for a huge server load.

China get regional servers, I would say. Not because of rmt, but because of china government.

Not sure if it's been said or not, but SDNA is old news. Shanda has been in the works for their own version of FFXIV long before 1.0 alpha. There's no way China would let its population play with other people around the world. It's virtually impossible to filter certain things that go on inside MMOs, and they have the great firewall of china for a reason. As to why Yoshida is making it sound like its something that came out of nowhere, something that he's been spearheading is unknown. Better than Tanakas ambiguous comments regarding the topic, making it sound like they were helping with the development of the game..

As for the yakutas, I was debating keeping my subscription up one more month before the servers go down. But now it's pretty much a sure thing that I will not be staying for these.. What a surprise, more gear that looks tailored specifically for females.
