If they can tuck hair under a head piece, I don't see why longer hair can't be drapped over the shoulder or rolled into a bun if it conflicts with a shield, weapon or back piece. And once the back piece is unequipped, the hair goes back down.... Just throwing out a suggestion / possible solution. =p

Personally, I like the idea of additional hair ornaments.

Yes please!! Tiaras and crowns too >.> I know we have some in game already but I mean ones like that lalafell princess wears and umm...more diverse tiaras besides sailor moon looking ones? haha

Female Lalafel in tiaras scare me... It makes me think of Toddlers in Tiaras... and the concept even frightens me.

Dreads and the like aren't exactly my forte. That doesn't mean that I don't want them in the game, however. More diversity means more originality, and race-specific gear is a step in the right direction, to an extent. More hairstyles would be even better.
In fact, I think Yoshi-P should implement more hairstyles every few months, and add a barber in each city/small town to change your hair for a medium fee.
Another idea: Limsa Liminsa, Ul'Dah and Gridania all have different cultures, so why not have different hairstyles at each of their respective barbers that represent their cultures? I know Limsa Liminsa and Gridania could use more player traffic.

I will not post the "Agrias disguises herself as Princess Ovelia and gets caught and laughed at by Ovelia and Ramza" picture. I will not post the "Agrias disguises herself as Princess Ovelia and gets caught and laughed at by Ovelia and Ramza" picture...YES THIS!! I want hair as long as Tifa's: the original tifa! not the AC one D: or at least hip length. The fact that there is no diversity makes me sad ; ; Short female hair styles are OK..but can we have long ones too please, SE? It does not feel very final fantasyish with such short hair. All my favorite heroins have had long long hair ; ;
Akahiko is designing this game, yes? Maybe you could give us some hairstyles from your pervious games like Princess Ovelia?
Anyway, long hairstyles are a pain to animate. There's also clipping issues to deal with, which is why the devs went for shorter hair styles both in XI and here. Be nice if they rise up to the challenge, but yeah.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

I don't remember reading anywhere's where they put hair in the same category as capes. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think I am lol.
More hairstyles, the less I look like everyone else. And can we get some hairstyles that are cross-race?

I know when I was playing beta for Tera, it was this way for my character: to keep her long hair from interfering with her clothing, when she was wearing something that would have grossly overlapped, her hair went automatically into and up-style. But the hair was still kind of stiff. But it would still be an idea for SE to look into if they were willing to give long hair loving players what they want. :3If they can tuck hair under a head piece, I don't see why longer hair can't be drapped over the shoulder or rolled into a bun if it conflicts with a shield, weapon or back piece.
