Err..wut? God, I hope that was a lame joke on your end.
More on topic...
I'll be honest. I was downright pissed when FFXIV launched. I felt doubly betrayed as both a customer and a fan of the FF series because of how horrible FFXIV and FFXIII were. Those two games were the straw that broke the proverbial camels back. After years of FFXI the blatant disregard for their customers and their work made it too much.
It made me very bitter and very angry. That much is a fact on my end.
I quit FFXIV when subs started, feeling angry and bitter all over again because I did not believe that at the time FFXIV was not a game that was worth paying for.
I started up again during the Welcome Back Campaign (If I remember the name of the event correctly). I was also recommended the game by a close friend. Despite my suspicions I decided to try it out again.
I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. The game had become playable for one!
I was able to actually enjoy the game, more or less. Granted, some derp moments were involved (level 60+ mobs? why are they even in the game?) on both my part and the games, but over all I was able to have fun.
However, this does not mean that the game is ready for the world. It does not mean that the game is "complete" or OMFGWTFBBQAMAZING!!! At least not by my standards.
What it does mean is that the game has progressed enough to return some of the trust SE took away with the launch of FFXIV and FFXIII. What it means is that, I - as a fan and a customer, am cautiously optimistic about 2.0.
Now, I won't sing praises of anyone and I certainly won't throw speculations about 2.0 simply because it is far too early for that.
However, I will give my thanks to Yoshida and the dev team for their hard work. Yes, they are paid for that work but my thanks is a recognition of the hard work that was done, not the work that is yet to come.
I will also give my thanks to Yoshida and the dev team for restoring a some faith into SE for me. If it weren't for them I can honestly say that I wouldn't be playing SE games anymore.
Those are my experiences with Yoshida and FFXIV. Granted, they are experiences that happened online but that doesn't invalidate them seeing as they're my experiences.
As far as 2.0 is concerned, I reserve judgment until it actually comes out.
