Still, keeping hold of one token would actually be easier then keeping track of 5 etc. You use it, and you put it back in it's designated place straight away.

The security token is not all that inconvenient. You just hit a button and type in a few numbers in addition to your password. How hard is that? Plus I'd much rather they have a policy of preventing suspicious logins than allow me to get hacked.

actually No I have to say this it's people like you, that make people like me who are in customer service loath their jobs half the time. I dread answering the phone with people demanding for answers not knowing the policies and intricacies that go into them being able to assist you with your case and or questions. The company decided that their hours of operation were only monday through friday that's wonderful that means that their people get 2 days off a week and it's on the weekend which most people want. There's a reason as to why they keep suspending the account and it's not just to piss you off or to ruin your weekend. They are seeing something suspicious happening and instead of you getting fucked over they lock the account to protect you and keep out the bad from happening. You refuse to buy a token for your account but if you keep getting locked out then you might just want to think about buying a security token since you have to have that token to be able to even log in. Also with that security token you probably won't worry much about the lock outs as well but that's only a possibility since I don't own one myself.

I had my account locked when i took my laptop to a freinds house due to 'suspiciuos activity'. I was using the same computer just a different ip. Why? I'm now running it on a new laptop and the problem didn't happen so that shows some flaws in their system. They shut down the account when I change ip, but not a new computer? Sounds like they just shoot in the dark to 'catch' account hackers... pretty low imho.

I have a security token. I have the game on my desktop and my laptop, and I'll occasionally log on using my laptop at work to check my retainers or do some crafting during slow times. I've never gotten locked out.

Trust me, it's worth it to get a security token for several reasons.

I think that you simply cannot get locked out when you use a token. The system is only a backup security layer for players who have no token. I logged on XIV with tons of different IPs (different countries), on different computers, never had issues.

Just have to post that the security token is really worth the cost. I'm still using the one I bought for XI when it first came out and I have never had a problem like the one the OP is describing, even after having lived at several different addresses and taken my computer to many lan parties to show off XIV.

Just because OP uses 5 accounts doesnt mean OP deserves different treatment when it comes to service (which is actually better then most dev companies). If you get flagged for suspicious activity then find out why and stop doing whatever you are doing. This only happens to me when changing the IP address, which I got resolved in less then 5 min. Got a token and its never happened since.

If you refuse the security options then its your own problem because like it or not sometimes people get hacked and Id rather have this then nothing.
