Also, there are married man-woman couples in RL who are more depraved and corrupt and evil than any loving gay couple. I am straight and happily married myself, but the extreme hate-filled view you have is unfair and very wrong.
As to the in-game reasons/support:
You must not know this, but my NPC buddy is female...and she hits on my female lalafell ALL the time. I mean she's like very specific and graphic....this would technically be a girl-girl storyline SE created that I have NO SAY in. I had no idea when I picked a female NPC buddy, she'd be hitting on me non-stop...I did it because I liked how she looked (btw I don't mind her comeons, I just think it's funny).
Again, the CUL storyline revolves around transgender...in the style of Shakespeare's 12th Night.
The Miners guild is basically a strip club (has nothing to do with gay relationships...but as you seem opposed to them as well thought I'd point out in game).
There are several storylines involving gambling.
Also, the MOST PERVERTED dialog in game atm is derogatory to Women. MRD/WAR quest is filled with it. I mean, it is borderline 'wth SE??!!' lude. No one seems to complain when girls are mis-treated like this in game...why? Because a male pirate on a boat might actually be a lude, demeaning man. It's part of playing the character.
Also, keep in mind, many couples in RL play this game as girl-girl or guy-guy. Why can you not understand that they would want to be joined in game? They aren't gay...they just are playing the character type they most liked. Why punish them? Are you against Lala's marrying Elzen too?
At the end of the day, you ARE playing a game in Real-time with real people. from the changing world. And like in the real world, the marriage of Ted and Steve will have very little if any effect on your personal life...no more than other marriages that were seen as 'taboo' in the past. (inter-racial, cross-economic, cross-religion etc.) I know this little post won't be enough for you to go, 'hey maybe I could be more open-minded' but stop hiding behind your hate. If you wanna treat others as lesser than you, that's fine, but realize we are ALL equal...regardless of how much money we have, who we love, who we worship, where we go to school....
