    Yeah, well, it's hard to tell exactly how hard it is for SE to do this. They're using in-house tools for animation after all, as far as I know. I saw a dev video with the FF11 team a few years ago though, where we got to see the tools they used for making animations. They made it sound like it was very easy for them to create fluid and good animations in it manually without mocap. If it's as easy to edit existing animation in FF14 and it was to create entirely new animations in FF11, there might be hope.

    As with all other ideas on this forum, the important part is just to make SE aware that people are interested in something, and how many are interested. The rest all depends on how much work it would be to add it, or if the devs feel like it fits into their vision. That's why I initially said that I would like it if it was easy for them to do. I wouldn't want to see a ton of dev resources being put into something like this, it's not important enough for that.

    Depends. You can effectively reflect/mirror animations with the right software. It would be tricky if we were talking about animations where the character moves left or right during the WS, but as most animations are stations with the few that involve some form of movement, I think it might be fine.

    Well, stuff like bows and great axes require two hands, so it would be less of a deal for them. Yes, technically for two handed weapons the "leading" hand is near the head of the weapon, but it's really more noticeable with single-handed weapons, We admitedly don't have enough of those now but may get more later.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    I've seen many game animators rage about this whenever it is needed.

    Naturally I don't know of possible plug-ins SE might create in-house, but I wouldn't hold it against them if they can't give you left handedness.

    I don't think this is worth the time and effort.

    It seems almost unfair really, yes lefty's are rare but that doesn't mean we should be completly ignored just because of that
    are you for real !

    I think this game uses motion capture for its animations so it would require them to recapture ever action for left handed players where applicable, really not worth the effort.

    I'm left handed and I think anyone that whines about no lh options is getting absurd.

    What's the next request? Amputee representation? Cross-eyed/Lazy Eye options? Back acne???

    This is a Final Fantasy game , not some sort of reality-replacement engine for the permanently disaffected.

    Quick fix: Devs should just add to the lore that everyone in Eorzea is born right-handed, with perfect eyes, hair, and teeth, and are immune to skin conditions. Furthermore pregnancy is undetectable and children are completely invisible until they turn ~8 years old -- after which they don't grow until their 23rd birthday at which point they transform into adults overnight --- the twelve hath decreed it

    Sure there are some armors in the game that are asymmetrical but don't seem to matter like BRD AF and BLM AF. But besides WAR AF, there's many other asymmetrical body gears such as Darklight Corselet, Heavy Darklight Armor, Rainmaker's Tunic, Gryphonskin Jerkin just to name a few that all have more protection on the off hand side.

    There are also bracers throughout the game that are asymmetrical with the idea that the off hand is more protected. And then belts like artisan's belt that have things on the wrong side. All of those would have to be flipped for a select few or else look kinda weird in combat. Not to mention all the cutscenes where your character gives things to people or does specific actions like holding a gun.

    It's a neat idea that would make characters more unique, but it just seems to be more trouble than it's worth unfortunately.
