Customers Currently on the 90-Day (or 180-Day) Subscription Plan

As we previously announced, we wish to inform our customers that we will be discontinuing the 90-day subscription option on Saturday, June 30, 2012. Beginning Sunday, July 1, 2012 we will only offer a 30-day subscription plan.

Unfortunately, if a customer currently on the 90-day subscription plan reaches the end of their billing cycle after the discontinuation of the subscription option, they will not automatically be switched over to the 30-day subscription plan. Instead, their subscription plan will be canceled and prevent the customer from logging into FINAL FANTASY XIV.

So basically, those loyal customers who signed up for bulk rate the first day billing resumed (Jan 5th?), are being penalized for our loyalty?

Why couldn't the deadline have been set for 180 days since billing resumed, not 176 days. Now... the discount is really only $3 overall, but it's the principle of it. And it's even more shady that SE finally clarifies the billing option change 2 days before the change. I know we signed an agreement stating SE could do whatever they please, but is this really a good message to send to players?

yeah, i'm considering not even subbing back up after the change to be honest. i haven't signed in for weeks and if anything i'll add a month here or there.

i mean i tried to show patience and confidence in the game by paying for multiple months at a time even before the game was of the quality of most free to play games, but it's starting to feel more like they would rather the people that have been playing the game just leave so they can start fresh at relaunch.

I just changed from 180 days to 30. Doesn't change for me, but being a legacy member and enjoying the discounted price, I would love to have, after 2.0 hits a 90-180 days back, with an extra discount for those that choose these plans. Like 8,99 for 90 and 7,99 for 180. SE, for us that already had that discount for paying 90/180 the legacy didn't add that much up. Hope you can consider that at some point.

180 days is 6 months. Beta and the free play time associated with that is less than 6 months away from June 30th. I am one of those loyal players who had been signed up for 180 day billing and I'm glad they are instituting this now before I would have paid for "Beta" time. Regardless, the whole billing structure was changed (for our benefit I might add) so I'm not understanding why people are upset.

Also I really don't care. My subscription runs out September 26th or something like that. If they cancel my subscription it's not gonna be a problem to go for the 30-day plan. I mean I'm still a coolio legacy member with my free Chocobo and the option to be in the credits, plus a discount monthly.

It's not like the 90-day and 180-day subscriptions won't be back after 2.0.

It would've been nice if they'd let us stay on the bulk subscriptions, then just "pause" the subscription during the beta, e.g. use up 80-something days before the beta and use the remaining 90-something after billing was reinstated...but honestly it's not a big deal. This probably would've been complicated to implement anyway, as not everyone currently playing has Legacy status. The fact that we get to keep this low price as Legacy is already way more than anyone expected.

Yea, what fire are we trying to start here? Think about it for a second 90 days is pretty much

August 1
September 1
October 1 <--- Problem. This is around the time they plan to roll out beta and move servers which means if a person decided to pick the 90 days rotation after July 1st then they may lose play time.

If anything they may even end up making September free or something so people don't lose out on days or perhaps they are doing it so that a person who decides to play after July 1st can't decide to pick 90 days and then get legacy or a person playing in august picks 90 and gets legacy or a person playing in September picks 90 and gets Legacy. This is all pretty much a method to prevent people into obtaining more legacy then they would like, since if the 90 day was still in effect a person could easily just select 90 day and then challenge the fact that they paid 90 and should have the right to Legacy because of it.

But as mentioned above it will be back, it's just because of how close the change is into 2.0 they have to get rid of those price models to push the fact that within 2-3/4 months 2.0 will be on the way.

you know they stop charging during "real beta" so if beta is on september most likely you'll skip that month till payment comes out, just like before.
