You're reading too much into my comment, I'm not running around telling whores to cover up or anything like that. I'm just saying that I like the modesty in FFXI and XIV and that they're able to make female characters look "sexy" without having to resort to thong-like gear and impracticality. Ex. Coatee

Yes, I totally agree. But that doesn't mean there's no place for thongs and impracticle outfits. This is a fantasy game! Let people live their fantasy their own way!

See, the thing is, this game that was made for "Fantasy" only lets people live their "Fantasies" for so far as the Art style and direction of the game doesn't project the kind of "Fantasy" people want.
If you want that kind of "Fantasy" where you can be a scantily clad woman in a tight dominatrix outfit, there are many games that can fulfill that need. (PWI, AION, TERA, B&S other games with high caliber character creation and armor skin mods, Second Life also works)
Final Fantasy isn't that kind of game, and I'm glad that it follows the "Fantasy" norm but doesn't do it outrageously like TERA or Blade and Soul.
The FF series does fantasy in a way that makes things logically believable that makes you think these things can actually happen, from the mechanical airship designs to it's lore.
maybe not things like jumping 16ft high off buildings and trees and running on water (Blade and soul) Or wearing armor that's beyond impractical that makes you wonder "How the hell does that stay on?" (TERA).

Final Fantasy isn't that kind of game, and I'm glad that it follows the "Fantasy" norm but doesn't do it outrageously like TERA or Blade and Soul.

You also certainly did not see my Steampunk Redlight Special outfit (in my defense it was a mashup of random leftover gears I had in inventory at the time). Or my Maelstrom friend's Bondage Pirate or the ever so amazing Subligar Paladin outfit.

XIV sincerely has it's share, hell it has a very large share of 'excessively sexy'. It just tends to lean a bit more towards the 'classy' side (when it does, at times sincerely...) and that also tends to rely on uncommon gear combinations which geeeenerally you only see during mid-range levels when you're using leftover gear

Exactly. I think SE balances the "sexy revealing" and "sexy modest" stuff quite well. I don't want them to feel they have to censor themselves because of what some prudish American might say on their "Christian" blog (this is just an example--not all Americans are prudes, not all prudes are American)

I was, however, kinda cheezed that they put a little skirt on the Lalafell bikini. I'm still hoping for something nicer than the granny panties us Lalafell females hafta wear now.
