EU ppl will always be slower then jp or americans because of server latency. It sucks, sorry.
Didn't SE say almost everything can be done through Content Finder? Maybe caravan will be one of them.
It shouldn't matter.
They were bad before last night's patch. If you want to do these as a group of friends during prime time, good luck. All of them are constantly full now and I agree with the OP: 24 slots at any given time for a full server is silly. This is like the old behests all over again.....or you could wait a few days and watch the number of people swarming caravan to be next to nothing.
Also auto-group? Where is it? 2012 calling Square-Enix...
I don't know if I read correctly, but they claim almost anything instanced will be on the Content Finder category, that goes for large scale dungeons also.
My simple solution to the problem...
1) Increase the number of participants to at least 24 per Caravan. Difficulty will scale as it does with Behest.
2) Increase the number of Hamlets around Eorzea that require Escorts (we could deliver them to the small encampment places like Red Rooster Stead or what ever)
3) Shorten length of time between current Escort so the party can begin to gather before the current escort is finished. Or like behest if you've recently signed up you have to wait until the last minute to sign up for the following escort to give those who have not signed up a chance.
4) Offer GC seals for completion of Behest, amount of mobs killed = Seals rewarded, amount of participants = amount of mobs. Perfect way to convince people to Behest again!
If none of that fits your fancy, go do Toto Rak!
(Honestly yea where the fudge is Auto pty Squeenix!!!)
As mentioned, multiple caravan instances per camp in the open world would be ideal.
In addition, and a bit of an aside from the complaint of the OP, I want to suggest that grinding a caravan for <15min and repeating is a bit boring. It would be nice if getting to a hamlet is the first checkpoint (sort of like old school racers like Outrun). When you reach the checkpoint the objective changes, and you have a new destination, survive through multiple checkpoints or keep going until failure. Each checkpoint could give a multiplier (but of course have more difficult mobs). By the end of a 2 or 3 hour run you could have racked up a lot of seals, and be at the other end of the region map.
