Relic Weapons for you? Curiosity

Everyone's responses have been really interesting.

The only thing holding me back is the double meld and I aint that happy about the 25k gc seals either. I'm one of the few it seems who has never broke at most 5m gil and have no real interest in spending gillions on this double meld weapon (between the weapons themselves and all that materia I can only imagine how much it costs, esp with the price gouging). If they had a better system for getting gc seals it wouldnt be so bad (think conquest points in xi, that would be nice) but having to spam toto-rak on top of all the hamlets and what not....

You can do chocobo caravans for a good amount of GC points.
Turning in extra ifrit weapons is a massive GC point earner.

The seal system isn't what should be holding you back honestly. Though I agree the double melded weapons can be extremely over the top in price right now, but that's because everyone knows they need them now. Maybe the price will drop in a little while.

I am going to call GC seals points from now on.
Too many seals x.x

by the time the price drops the weapons may be outdated, unless the do allow us to expand them. But introducing the weapon of weapons this early in the game seems a lil odd to me so I am hesitant. We dont even have a true expansion yet so I'm leery is all of blowing my entire wallet on these

I can understand that.
I do a lot of mining so I have gil to blow. There really isn't anything else in the game that one can spend gil on at the moment anyway.

I am going to get the relic on the off chance that they make it upgradable often enough to be worth the investment.
It's a gamble, but I am willing to gamble on Yoshi-P's words. I have been since launch anyway. lol

They already confirmed relic will be upgraded in the future strait form the mouth of Yoshi-P. I don't expect them to stay as BiS like now forever but they will always be relevant.

Until three days ago I had never had more than 2 mill and usually had well under a mill. Since a lot of rich players want the class weapons asap there is a lot of gil to be made farming the hq mats. I made 10 mill in just three days from trillium+1 and trillium bulbs+1. Bought mats I needed for avengers with the gil and had a LS mate do the crafting. Blew up most of the mats today but got lucky on the second attempt at melding a weapon.

Are there any news, if the relics will stay as the best weapon ingame 4ever (i mean that would be the only reason why i would do it lol)

Arkune, haven't they said that the Relic weapons will, in the future, have quests to upgrade them?

That leads to the conclusion that, whereas they might at patches 'dip' they are likely going to stay very potent.
(that said, i'd love if there were a handful of sidegrades)

If they don't change the drop rates in 1.22c or 1.23 the number of likes in that first post is going to drop so hard.

AV/CC drops are so beyond terrible it's not funny.
