"My life is a chip in your pile. Ante up."
I'm going to interpret the request more as: Clothing that is more feminine, sleek, and comfortable.
Mage gear does not fall into this for the most part. DoW gear does. However, what *I* have done for my THM/BLM is:
Find a nice Shirt (most shirts look nice).
Put on a pair of Tights (Woolen Tights, black, for example).
Get some Boots (not pattens!!!).
Then no gloves (they all look bulky as if I'm going to work in a mine or bake a pie). Ringbands are good however and look very attractive.
No hat! Almost all hats look silly for mages, even the ones with feathers in it. I wear a pair of glasses or a circlet, those are quite cute.
It is possible to have a nice looking non-bulky attire if you put work into it. AND it can still be functional. However, it took over a week or two for me to find a look that I liked for mage.
When we get a breast slider in 2.0 armor will be 20% sexier. At least mine will be ... others might want to opt for 5%.
Also, Healer's Culottes.
Psh, I don't even understand the words coming out of the OP's mouth, everything that touches my awesome Galka body is sexy because I make it that way :P
Best class for sexy equips on a female elezen? I'd have to go with pug/monk by all means.
All those shirts look damn good on them. And they can also equip all those harnesses that shows even more skin.
Otherwise there is the coatee.
The only mage clothes that look good on female elezen in the department of actually looking good and somewhat sexy, are the Bliaud.
It's funny how people can get totally upset by someone else his or her taste. It's not like they are dictating everyone to follow their choices. Everyone has their own sense of fashion. Be it ingame or irl.

I tend to prefer aesthetically pleasing gear, as well. I actually spend time looking for or having gear made, so that I don't have to look like all those people that have terribly mismatched gear for just the stats.
There's nothing wrong with it, so long as you aren't purposefully gimping yourself in lieu of being eye-candy. It just takes a little research, effort, and understanding of the race/class/job you choose.
In a lot of cases you can even go with single melds and still substitute or surpass a lot of the JSEs (AFs). It CAN be costly (in the cases of multi-melds), but the option is definitely there if you want to be fashionable and functional.
There is enough gear in this game to definitely mix and match up to satisfy your palate and still have respectable stats to replace JSEs (AFs). You can meld gear, dye gear to match, etc.
As far as what to play and not be underwhelming in functionality, here is what I could suggest:
DoW classes/jobs (save ARC/BRD) don't necessarily have as much leniency, due to the dangers of being on the front-lines; but that doesn't make it impossible to. If played intelligently enough, you could easily sacrifice in some areas like DEF or HP... PGL/MNK or LNC/DRG would be your choices, for the most part; MRD/WAR and GLD/PLD rely heavily on DEF, HP, etc of which nearly all gear is going to be bulky.
Back-line classes/jobs offer a lot more flexibility in the fashionable/functional department, however. Their home is in the back-lines and are not really meant to take a hit in any respect that would cause you to heavily depend on anything but DMG and healing/support. CNJ/WHM, THM/BLM, ARC/BRD are for you if you want the most flexibility.
Over-all, there won't nearly be as many options as DoL/DoH classes, but picking out the right race, class, or job and then researching the available gear is the way to go, if aesthetics are important.
*Side Note: Subligar is the epeen of the sexy... If you can work it in to a functional set of gear, you deserve all the attentions.![]()
There is also a summer event coming up soon (we presume). Last year they gave us swimsuits. This year we are anticipating Yukatas.
Such seasonal gear is normally not designed for combat, but can make any race/class look hot.
...except for the Lalafells.
take a look at my signature
honestly, just have her wait for the summer event and pick up a swimsuit then wear ANY armour she wants and /display off whatever pieces of gear she thinks aren't feminine enough :P
XI/XIV aren't the games to play if you want to be a high-fashion blow-up doll. Try every other MMO post-WoW if you want that. The sexiest we have is a Duskwight Elezen in DRG AF, and that's as far as it needs to go.
Am I being biased? Why yes of course I am.![]()
